Dr. Rebecca J Shoden, MD

Dr. Shoden is a smart, thoughtful and caring OB-GYN and probably the best gynecological surgeon in NM. She tried to avoid surgery in my case, but, ultimately and at my request, she performed a partial hysterectomy and it was a total success. Minimal scarring, quick recovery time, and I could feel afterward that it had been done by someone who was skilled and very careful. Thanks to her, I’m pain-free for the first time in decades. When you’re dealing with complex health problems, you need the rare combination of someone who is confident in her knowledge and ability while still open-minded and always interested in learning new things. Dr. Shoden is just this kind of doctor. And, in response to the review that says she’s too old, maturity and experience are two of the biggest assets a physician can have. To me, Dr. Shoden seemed more modern and progressive in her thinking than some very young doctors I’ve seen.

Best to find a younger doctor....

I was a patient for 17 years and hadn't seen Dr. Shoden in several years. Called to make an appointment and was told I would have to come in as a new patient so I filled out all the paperwork and was told that they are not accepting new patients. Very disappointing in the lack of communication.

My surgery that Rebecca Shoden performed on was an outstanding success. I am completely happy with all of the support that she and her staff have given. I highly recommend Dr. Shoden.

Dr. Shoden and her staff are the best! I've had to see other Gyno's in the past due to circumstances and none have come close to the care that is given in this office. Karen Dwyer P.A. and Kay Lang C.N.P. are top notch and always make you feel comfortable and cared about. Dr. Shoden has even called to check on me from her own private cell phone on a Friday evening after a horrible ruptured ovarian cyst I was in the E.R. for. These women are the greatest!
