Office manager is a nightmare. Staff snaps at patients. Wont work with insurance. Takes two weeks for prescriptions to be authorized after date to be filled.

The only thing this clinic offers is judgment, cookie cutter treatment plans, instead of individual case by case care... They care about the $ from urine test 's that they lievwbout, without explanation. They cared about making sure you feel like an addict. They increased my level of pain from the first visit to the last. When I had to have an extremely painful surgery, I contacted them two weeks ahead of time to figure out post opp instructions. I finally got in touch with them the day before the surgery. They acted as if I was a burden, and were unaware. They then instructions ted me to have the surgeon prescribe post opp meds, and to call them back for directions. The surgeon was assuming they knew enough about how pain increases when you have a surgery, and they would help control that pain. Optimal Pain and Wellness instructed me to stop taking any regular medications and take less medication than what I require daily. They seriously expected me to recoup with a fraction of what… is transforming any painful surgery. My PCP, the surgeon, my rheumatologist, the gastroenterologist, and every other doctor I see also agree that Optimal Pain and Wellness weren't doing their job. Avoid this dungeon/interrogation clinic at all costs. The whole staff, from the recptionist, to the nurse, to the doctor's... They're all incompetent, and need to find a career where common courtesy aren't required, if they obviously make so many patient's feel so degraded. Good luck with help on pain. Shots, infusion, trial pain stimulator 's... All they want to control are vulnerable patient's dependent on medication, just like someone on insulin... They know you are on a contract with them, so they need it against you. They will decrease working medications, and when you finally call them on their mistakes, they falsify their notes, and fire you, placing all blame on you... Cold turkey. They don't like reinforced wrong. We are a fast, easy, lucrative high $ revenue opportunity for this clinic. They didn't do a signal vital check for over 3-6 month's... That would just common prwcrice, but they don't get paid for that. As long as you wait in the lobby, and then back into a cramped hallway, the actual doctor only spends about 3minutes looking on a computer, and ignoring or not acknowledging your concerns. 2-3 hours waiting for a "specialist" to literally look at a screen and tell you to come back in Edmonton is not pain management. It's a scam. I had been running a fever for 2-3 month's. I told them each visit, but highly doubt they had the convenience to note that. Then I communicate same thing the last visit. They will get investigsted, and hopefully they loose their licenses.

The worst Doctors office I have ever been to! There is one lady named BJ that is really sweet, the rest of the staff are really rude and inconsiderate. My appointment took 3 an a half hours, and I saw dr. Thurman for 4 minutes! There are signs every where, on the bathroom door it says you cannot use the bathroom if you have an appointment, the water fountain does not work, after you sign in there is a sign saying if you go outside to stretch your legs your appointment will be reschulded there are 40 people sitting there complaining, having to use the restroom but you cant, you just have to sit there like your in a cage and you cant do anything! the ethics commitie needs to investgate that place it is the worst doctors office I have ever seen or been to! Disgusting place! I clicked one star because you cant click no star!

Sorry front office, reflects on what to expect. Maybe the DEA should put this one out of business for the obvious reasons, sends the rats packing.. get a doctor who will serve your needs, not a prescriptions writing money hungry doctor.

Poor front office reflects on a poor practice, would not waste my valuable time and my health waiting for an unresponsive and eventually rude front office, lack of excess curio not for patients needs in the simplest way again reflects on what level of care to expect.

Dr Thurman is an excellent Pain Management specialist. Knowledgeable & Friendly. The wait is long and often another Dr’s will take some of her patients. Sometimes they aren’t empathetic or as friendly.

They don’t take you seriously and have had serious med issue come up & was not helped. Just go to ER... huh. I thought that she specializes in PAIN.

I have been a patient of Dr. Thurman’s for about 6 years. I really like her and appreciate how she listens to you and tries to help. But.. I do not appreciate how I am treated when I call the office. You never get a person to answer the phone. Then you leave a message and it may take them 2-4 days to respond. I don’t just call to chit chat, I have a major problem that needs to be taken care of in a timely manner. I am speaking about getting prior authorization from your insurance company. The staff not getting to it when the fax comes or Humana calls is a major problem. Just wish they could do their jobs so we as patients don’t have to go through all the phone calls and hours on hold, when all it would take would be someone answering the phone or fax.
