Dr. Renee Ilene Applebaum, PhD

Renee Applebaum demonstrated an alarming lack of compassion, professionalism, and diligence. For clarity, she treated my elderly parent. I am not the patient and am sharing my opinion as a caregiver. My parent indicated that the testing process was excessive and the preliminary meeting was inadequate. What followed was a superficial preliminary report, which was delivered 72 hours after the test (the Test ended on a Friday night, and the results were shared the following Monday). After an initial cold and uninformed conversation, i consulted with my parents' other providers, and I realized that there was no meaningful understanding of the patient's history, and no baseline was established, both of which are fundamental to any credible evaluation. The conclusions presented were generic observations that could have been made without testing. The overall interaction reflected poor preparation on the part of the provider, questionable methodology, and a disregard for patient well-being.… Based on my experience on behalf of my parent, this practice has failed to meet even the most basic standards and should be approached with caution.

Dr Applebaum has helped us to understand my father’s dementia. She not only took the time to evaluate him comprehensively but also has offered us advice and resources on how to manage his condition. I would highly recommend her.

She recognizes how hard we’re fighting and fights just as hard alongside us to make sure their needs are met. Her presence brings comfort during an incredibly heavy time, and our family is endlessly grateful for her and the dedication of everyone in the office.

Dr. Applebaum was compassionate and I did not feel rushed in her office. She has helped me to understand the reason for my memory loss and the changes in my behavior more than any doctor that I have seen so far.

Dr. Applebaum exhibits a cold demeanor. Instead of trying to determine the root cause of the patient's problems, she applies pre-conceived notions, which could be to the detriment of the patient. I would not be recommending her to anyone known to me.

I was referred to Dr. Applebaum after several doctors were unable to explain my symptoms. She took time to listen to my husband and I, review all of my records and conduct a lengthy evaluation. We did not feel rushed by her and she was able to ultimately answer all of our questions and send me in the direction that I needed to finally receive help for my memory loss. I would highly recommend her. Her staff is courteous and the entire experience was a pleasure.

Dr. Applebaum more time with me in trying to determine the cause of my symptoms than any other doctor has so far. She was extremely thorough and I felt she was very compassionate. I would highly recommend her to anyone needing a neuropsychological evaluation.

I found Dr. Applebaum to be WONDERFUL! Frankly, I can't imagine a better neuro-psychologist in metro Detroit. I visited her after a bad car accident. She gave me 2 days of in-depth testing and confirmed the same concerns that I have been experiencing and also what my neurologist had found. She also supported her findings STRONGLY when my lousy auto insurance carrier attempted to drop my coverage even though I was the innocent party broad-sided at a stop light. She is truly terrific!

Good doctor. Would recommend to anyone.
