Dr. Renee Ann Wheeler

My first visit with Dr. Renee Wheeler was absolutely what I expected from a doctor. She showed concern and took the time to listen and sympathize with my experiences and health issues. However, on my second visit with her (two years later), she was non-responsive to my needs; had completely changed her doctor/patient mannerisms, and kept repeating that I did not have insurance. In fact, I was on the Grady sliding fee scale; which meant I could see any doctor within the Grady network, for a fee. By the third visit, she was worse than the second visit. Even at my asking, she was not willing to send me to the necessary Grady clinic or services needed to get a wheelchair assessment. Even after, she had authorized me a much-needed, handicap decal two years earlier. She also did not have the information, or the initial diagnosis, or other doctors/facility information, which I had signed a release for on the second visit. This information would have explained my need for a wheelchair… assessment; electric to be more specific. I currently use a manual wheelchair which was prescribed to me by a neurologist between the years of 2010-2014. When I asked what was the problem that she could not give a wheelchair assessment she yelled out: “Because it would be fraud!” Umm, who am I trying to defraud, considering I already receive SS?. I think this doctor needs to be re-educated; So, does most of the staff at the Grady clinic at 1247 Donald Lee Hollowell Pkwy NW, Atlanta, GA 30318.
