Dr. Renga A Pakeeree, MD

Dr. Pakeeree is literally the best thing that ever happened to me. I was struggling with sooo many problems, PTSD, derealization, insomnia, and I only had a name for insomnia. He helped me find out what was wrong. He took the time to talk to me on multiple separate occasions before diagnosing me with anything or putting me on any drugs. He actually listens.

I have been going to Dr. Pakeeree for almost 20 years now, and he has been so patient and caring with me - he always drops everything and calls if I call in with a problem; he has, in fact, come in on his days away from the office simply to help me out with my latest crisis. It has taken so long to find the right mixture of meds for my condition and he has been with me every step of the way!! If he recommended against a drug and referred someone to another doctor, I'd say he was being extremely professional - if you prescribe something you know may do damage then you are being unethical, knowing it will harm the patient. I cannot recommend him highly enough - he has always been there for me and has had the patience of a saint!

I went to Dr. Pakeeree because I had ust moved to the area and he was about half a mile away (walking distance). I was hoping for a good experience (after all, he's been in practice for over thirty years). However, it seems that even if a doctor has been in practice for a long time, it doesn't mean that he is any good.Dr. Pakeeree is VERY biased when it comes to certain medications and will outright refuse to prescribe them even when there is a documented history of a medicine being prescribed and when told that the medicine works well. I don't think he is used to (1) patients knowing their medicines, how they work, and how well they work for them personally, and (2) patients being assertive with this information. When I tried to talk to him about it he completely shut down and gave me a couple of (bupkis) reasons why he did not "feel comfortable" with prescribing it (this is Concerta, by the way, used to treat ADHD, which I have been on for TEN YEARS). But after that, he outright told… me THREE TIMES that if I could find another doctor who would give it to me, he would transfer my records over there. In my opinion, that is highly unethical and is nigh dereliction in his duty of care that he has towards me.He then said he would put me on another medicine for my ADHD, which, if it works, is fine by me. However, when I asked him about the medicine, he simply stated it was used to treat ADHD. I had obviously figured that much out for myself, and asked him further about the medicine and he simply said he would make sure there was an information packet for me to read.I would definitely NOT be recommending him to anyone.

He followed the recommendations of the psychiatrist at the Akron General Hospital rather than analyze me personally to see what his diagnosis would be. This was disappointing to me personally.
