Dr. Riad Al-Dakheel, MD

My First and only appointment with Dr. Al-Dakheel was very informative. He explained everything to me in detail, answered all my questions regarding using my CPAP Machine and made me laugh which in turned made me more comfortable, I explained to Dr. Al-Dakheel I was my own health Advocate, I told him I know my body better than anyone else so I will always fight for my self and my rights when it comes to my health, which he totally agreed and told me how much he respects and appreciates those sentiments, he said he wish I could come and talk to some of his other patients about being their own Advocates. I would definitely recommend his services to other people.

I was recovering from extreme blood loss, and not at the top of my game. He walked in the office, and declared that I must have sleep apnea because I am overweight. Thanks loads. Scheduled me for a sleep study. It’s amazing how fast things can be scheduled when you have reliable insurance. Two words: never again. Did the sleep study. Several days later, I got a call on my car phone. Without so much as a “Is this a good time to talk?”, the young lady on the line announced that I had sleep apnea, and that I had to come to the office to get fitted for a device. I had just parked the car. Everybody in the car, and those outside the car heard every word. Swell. I informed the young lady that my relationship with the practice was officially over. I also advised her that I was filing a complaint. Go somewhere else.

Avoid Dakheel at all costs! He's a criminal. I was in urgent need of a new sleep doctor, and Dakheel was the only one with availability in a 50mi radius. I drove an hour to see him. The first thing he said to me was that I live very far away and questioned how can he be sure I'll come see him again. He refused to treat me if I didn't schedule a follow-up right then and there! I obliged out of necessity. On to my reason for the visit - medication management. I simply wanted a refill of a script I'd been on for years (which was not a controlled substance or anything). He initially refused to fill it, seemingly skeptical about my motives. I have narcolepsy, confirmed with an mslt, and that's somehow suspicious? After threatening to not fill the script, i had to kiss his (rear end) just to get him to change his mind. In the end, i left disgusted and with a script that i would later discover was unfillable. It was missing a dosage and total quantity. The other 1 star reviews are… completly accurate.

I have been a patient of Dr. Dakheel for at least 10 years, and I am very pleased with his service and care for his patients.

This doctor is very patent with you. He will tell you after he do his time witn you, then he will tell you what your problem is/are. Yes i would considered him for anyone that have the problems that he specialize in. He's a great doctor and know what he is doing.

Not pleased at all. Every time I come here the wait is RIDICULOUS.

Dr. Dakheel was late getting to the office because his electric went out at home. I was seen 1 hour past my original appointment time. The doctor wouldn't allow my wife to ask questions. He just kept saying that my sleep apnea test was extremely bad and that I needed a cpap machine & that surgery isn't an option as surgery will not help any with the sleep apnea. He also told me that I could go out & get a 2nd or 3rd opinion, but told me that I would be back to see him. Will I did get a 2nd opinion & was told that surgery would help but not solve the problem completely. However the new doctor Iâ??m seeing is allowing my wife & myself to ask as many questions as we need. I would never refer anyone to Dr. Dakheel & I have also told my primary care physician not so send anyone to him again.

He did not inform his patients when he lost his sleep lab. Instead, he charged me for a visit when I was having sleep problems, did not address the problems (I felt I needed a new sleep study), and when I subsequently called still having problems, he would not return my calls. Then I sent letters and he did not respond to them. Finally, I sent him a certified letter threatening to report him to the board for abandonment. That's when he finally called and told me that he'd lost his sleep lab, but hadn't told his patients because he wanted to keep them coming due to "cash flow problems." Another thing: I had told him I had positive ANA and anticentromere antibodies, and I suspected scleroderma. He responded with a very skeptical, "That's very, very rare." Two weeks later a top scleroderma specialist diagnosed me with it. One would think that since anticentromere antibodies can affect the lungs and cause pulmonary arterial hypertension that he would have insisted on doing a full pulmonary… function test with DLCO, and an echocardiogram. But no, he was very wishy-washy about it, like he didn't want to do it! I have since learned that my DLCO is down to between 70 and 80% of predicted, and I have pulmonary venous hypertension secondary to heart muscle stiffening. When I told his secretary he hadn't answered any of my letters, she said, "That sounds like him!"

My primary doctor referred me to Dr. Dakeel's office to get a sleep study done. I was impressed with Dr. Dakeel's professionalism and bedside manner, however he could be more punctual.

Dr. Dakheel, is always sincere. I have never known him to be rude or arrogant. He has been my Doctor over 20 years. He always shows concern and passion in his diagnosis. I would recommend him to a friend or another family member. He is a real PROFESSIONAL!!
