Dr. Ricardo Cortez

I am writing this on behalf of our 41 yo son that functions on a 2-4 year level. I have NEVER met such an uncaring, UNPROFESSIONAL dr. as dr. Cortez. My special needs son has had severe pain , progressing to him not being able to walk without his father and I holding him up .My son also has a severe seizure disorder since he was 7 months old. Dr Cortez walked in, made absolutely NO eye contact with us and went to his computer and turned around and asked us what the problem was,?he demonstrated that we were actually bothering him and asked us, "What do you want me to do about it?" We said, that's why were here we dont know, he said he's a neurosurgeon he doesn't make a diagnosis, my sons pcp has to do that. He said our son needed an MRI, (our son needs to have a sleep MRI) , he said, he doesnt do that. We left on very bad terms and in total shock.

i read some reviews when dr, cortez was in arkansas and can only wonder were they came from. i had 2 surgery,s previous to meeting dr. cortez. i could hardly walk. dr. cortez was very thorough with test[ mri and catscans] he spent alot of time with me and my wife, answered all my and her questions, explained all my options. when i decided to go with surgery he and his staff were wonderful. i had extensive work done. im doing great and would definitely recomend dr. cortez to any and all my friends and family. thanks dr. cortez

I would not refer ANYONE to Dr. Cortez. At the beginning of my consultation, he informed me that I was far too young to be considered for back surgery; then, within five minutes, he was saying he could schedule my surgery within a week. Although he offered no explanation for his indecisiveness, he did insist that I had only ONE surgical option, which I have since found to be a total fabrication. In addition, he tried making jokes about the very invasive procedure, exhibiting a complete lack of professionalism. If a brief consult with the man could yeild such unacceptable results, I cannot imagine the damage he would likely do with a knife!

HUGE WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. VERY UNCARING DOCTOR...AVOID, SEE EITHER OF THE OTHER TWO DRS. YOU CAN SCCHEDULE AN APPT WITH DR CORTEZ QUICKLY AND NOW I KNOW WHY.
