Dr. Richard Michael Benoit, MD

Dr. Benoit watched over our prenatal twins with a gentle bedside manner combined with obvious knowledge of the best practices. We trusted him and always felt that we were receiving the best care possible.

Of all the doctors and nurses that I had at Kaiser during my pregnancy and delivery Dr. Benoit was by far the worst. This speaks to both how good the regular staff is but also to how bad Dr. Benoit was. He came in as the night time attending half way through my labor induction and was immediately aggressive and condescending. He had not reviewed our birth plan but insisted that he did. He then proposed some very aggressive induction methods which I specifically said I did not want in my birth plan; when I pushed back he became very aggressive and patronizing and also kept mentioning how not doing the aggressive methods would likely result in a Cesarean (which he knew was my greatest fear). Luckily for us there was a resident also present who agreed to table the aggressive induction techniques for later (which later it turned out was not necessary at all) and also an empathetic nurse who ushered him away. The doctor that came in the morning didn't even suggest the methods that Dr.… Benoit seemed to be implying were absolutely imperative and the induction proceeded without any problems. I will never forget how he prayed on my emotions and pressed his authority in one of my most vulnerable moments. He alone made my labor a terrible experience.

Highly recommend him! Had the best experience with out triplets under his care.

I had a terrible experience with Dr. Benoit. I went to him for first trimester screening after being referred by my OB. Being my first pregnancy I was unsure what to expect. I thought everything was going smoothly, we were watching the ultrasound of the baby on the TV screen. While I was still in a state of undress from the exam, Dr. Benoit tells us that the baby has a neural tube defect, and is non-viable. I began to cry, and Dr. Benoit left the room. I got dressed and one of his nurses ushered us into a conference room, where I was given a print out of information on the neural tube defect. Dr. Benoit went to see other patients. I was so upset I wanted to leave immediately.. I was told that I could call the office if I had further questions, but when I called I had to leave a message and never received a call back. I would advise expectant mothers to avoid Dr. Benoit, as this was an experience I never want anyone else to ever have to go through!

I had an appointment at 10a got there on time ,i waited till 1:15 pm to be seen, i saw people that came after me go in before me. I heard one of the staff members say shes just gonna have to wait.. Just dont make her wait to long while laughing...i was the last person.. So think twice before coming here . Doctor is great he just needs,a whole new staff..

I was referred to Dr. Benoit for my first trimester screening. Once in the office waiting room I noticed that the ambience was warm, comfortable, and inviting. The staff was courteous and very helpful. Waiting time was at most 15 minutes. I was called into the patient room and was pleasantly surprised. The room had state of the art equipment with all the bells and whistles. There was even a large flat screen TV, facing the patient bed, where I could see the entire ultrasound as it was being done. Although the Doctors manner was slightly standoffish, he stayed with me long enough to answer all of my questions (which were many) and even took the time to do an extra procedure to alleviate my anxiety over certain aspects. I was highly impressed with the care that I received. I only wish that he would see regular non-high-risk pregnancies. I would count myself lucky to be his continuous patient. There is a certain level of competence that he exudes, which leaves me certain that all things… are being assessed and taken care off. His staff also outdid themselves. A week after being seen, I called in to receive some results. There was a communication breakdown somewhere, since apparently I wasnt supposed to get the results from them. That was not the ordinary protocol. But when I spoke with the office manager and explained that the Doctor himself had told me when to call, the manager followed through and did everything in her power to rectify the situation. I was again, pleasantly surprised by the level of competence and commitment. Many other offices would say sorry and leave you without any recourse. Again, I highly recommend this Doctor and his staff.

He took the time to answer all my questions. I was impressed with his education before I got there, and even more impressed with his personality after my visit!

Dr. Benoit was so patient and kind with me and my husband. He really was really patient and nice the whole time we were there. He kept on asking if I had any more questions and if there was any more that he or his staff could do for us Each time we came to his office all the staff was sweet and friendly. Everyone there was very informative on what ws going to happen and was considerate about how comfortable I was. I love the experience an would reccomend him to everyone.
