Dr. Richard Boccio, MD

Dr Boccio took care of my Achilles Heel. He felt it could be repaired without surgery and casted it. I highly recommend him

For a podiatrist/surgeon, Boccio botched both my feet surgeries (left foot twice!). Right foot, he broke my little toe during surgery, tried to deny it, but xray proved me right. Had me in a rehabilitation center for SIX WEEKS, and still nothing was fixed. Hobble to any other bona-fide doctor, avoid this one.

I had a surgical fracture was in the emergency room, he was the dr. on call but couldn't find the time to come to the hospital and see me. 5 days later in agony I am at his office and he is inept, dropped the skeleton on me, still was willing to put me off till the end of the week. Mind you 36 hrs. after the break the bone starts to heal. I had nothing but a hard time from his billing staff. Stay away.

When I had painful foot problems a couple of years ago, I asked an internist-friend of mine which of the podiatrists in his practice he would recommend that I see. Without hesitation he directed me, instead, to a podiatrist outside his practice - Dr. Richard Boccio - and I'm glad he did. Dr. Boccio is one of the most capable and personable doctors I have crossed paths with. In addition to his orthopedic practice in Smithtown, New York (more on that later), he has a podiatry office in Huntington New York, staffed by a terrific staff of caring professionals. There, he patiently analyzed my foot problems and outlined a course of treatment for each, beginning with the most conservative and graduating as indicated to multiple (and needed) surgeries at the amazing Surgi-Center he is affiliated with in Smithtown, New York. As a long-distance runner, my feet are my lifelines to sanity, and his excellent treatment has me running (and walking!) pain-free for the first time in years. His… manner is so friendly, sincere, low-key, professional, and reassuring. that I felt an instant connection and trust for him. And the results bear that out. As a matter of fact, when I discovered that he is also an orthopedic surgeon, there was no one else I would consider to do my rotator cuff repair (perfectly) - and I am scheduled for the same surgery on the other shoulder in December. (Maybe I should get a multi-surgery discount - six separate foot surgeries to correct six separate problems, and two shoulder surgeries!) I recommend Dr. Richard Boccio most highly. What a gem!

he corrected the problem but after 3 operations on the same foot I am now mored screwed up that before the first operation.

EXCELLENT PHYSICIAN

My review above says it all. One of the most important things is that the Dr takes the time to explain his findings & answer any questions you may have. I consulted prior to Dr Boccio with another surgeon who did not even take 5 minutes time after the consulting exam to discuss what procedure he would be doing, what the recovery period would be etc. In summary while he came very highly recomended he lacked the ability to put me at ease unlike Dr Boccio.
