Dr. Richard John Boehme JR., MD

Dr. Boehme is not a bad doctor. And his PA's are usually good as well. His staff, however, leaves A LOT to be desired. If ever you have to deal with a secretary named Mary, be prepared to hang up angry and confused by her inability to properly be the "doctors assistant". If this is the quality of person he requires as an assistant, it tells VOLUMES about the practice. If you establish as a patient, they will not require regular appointments, which is nice if your case is not complicated and you just need maintenance medication but be prepared for MARY to argue that you have regular appointments when they finally realize that they have been giving refills for 2-3 years with no issue.

The absolute worse doctor's office I've ever dealt with. It's located in a sketchy, run down, urgent care center. THEY NEVER ANSWER THEIR PHONE. EVER. you have to leave a voicemail every time you call and then they take forever to call you back. They made me wait 2 weeks to schedule an MRI I still haven't had because they were waiting for insurance authorization that my provider DOESN'T REQUIRE. Every time you talk to someone, they can't speak to what someone else told me. (typical healthcare industry) I would rather go to a Witch Doctor than give these hacks another co-pay. Go literally anywhere else and you'll be better off. Literally the worst neurologist in North Florida.

I was led back to his office with his name plate on his desk. There he asked me many questions and did a cursory exam. I found him cold with no personality. As I left, I mentioned that "the dr. seemed nice". The receptionist said that was not the dr., it was his PA. When I objected to being led on,she said angrily that the PA was "very good". Oh,yea? He wasn't the dr. Yet I was charged a Drs. Visit. My insurance took care of that. I told her I did NOT want to see a PA, I wanted to see the dr. I went in with my husband. The dr. Seemed irritated and he was rude and condescending. We left,never to go back. We noticed he parks his car in a front parking spot,a spot one of his patients could need. I can't believe how he runs his office. I did have one test done that day for the nerves in my legs. The dr. Came in to talk to the tech about how he would pay him, not even acknowledging me. The tech could not get the equipment to work properly but said I had neuropathy which I do not have.I… asked for my records for a second opinion and never went back.

Follow up is not necessary regarding my visits.

I had a brain tumor in 2000 and after all my treatments, I felt like I was walking on glass. Dr. Boehme found I had permanent peripheral neuropathy and has been my neorologist ever since. He has taken care of my needs and after my last surgery, when my left foot became much worse in pain and more studies were done, he found the medicine I needed to help me with that. I have never needed special shoes because of this man while I know of some other's who have. I thank God daily for him. He also has a very caring staff.. The problem with getting an appointment seems to be that his office is to busy.

This is great doctor and devoted. Not businessman, healer.

I have been seeing Dr. Boehme for three yrs. since I moved here and I am very happy with the care he has provided me. I have found him to be very thorough in his exams and he always answers my questions and takes his time with me. I would recommend him. I like him a lot better than the Dr. I was seeing in the state I came from.

I really like Dr. Boehme; however, I find his staff to be unfriendly and borderline rude. Because of the staffs' attitude, I find myself not wanting to go into his office.

The appt was easy to make but seeing Dr. Boehme wasn't. I had tests run and never heve never even met him and won't for another month. I don't even know what he looks like. I'm changing neurologists becuse of this. When I went in for my first appt.,they took me back to a man sitting in an ornate office who asked a bunch of questions then gave me a neurological exam. He scheduled 4 expensive tests. As I left,I said I really liked the dr and th receptionist says,"Oh,that's not the dr. That was one of his 3 PA'S". I said,"WHAT?" She told me the Dr would evaluate me in 6 weeks and that's when I would meet him! I was astounded. During this time,my headaches got worse and one evening,I called him to see if I could get a bettter med. I didn't want a narcotic,just something that worked because this one wasn't. His answering service was rude and told me he did not dispense medications after hours except for seizures. They told me to go to urgent care. But I had no way there. I couldn't reach… anyone for some reason,my son and husband were way out of town so I spent the night up with an ice pack and crying. They said even if I did get to urgent care,someone had to go with me.This is the worst dr. I have ever gone to and I won't go back.

Dr. Boehme is an excellent doctor. I feel confident in his diagnosis of my migraines. I trust his knowledge and feel like I am in good hands. Where this office falls short and most important is his front office. This is your First Impression and Last Impression of any office. He has employed a young lady named Katelyn that is so abrupt when you check in and impatient when you call. This young lady makes you feel like you have majorly inconvenienced her when you encounter her. I recognize that offices are busy - I work in one. But we are paid to handle the pace with grace and patience. The office manager needs to take a look at this young lady because she is what would make me look elsewhere for a doctor.
