Dr. Richard Michael Herman, MD

This is a review of my experience when I went to see Dr Herman about a bit of pain in my right ear drum. 1. The office staff was very pleasant 2. The problem was clearly stated to Dr Herman. He did a visual inspection of the right ear drums d said it was a bit dry and that there was nothing more to see. He prescribed antibiotic drops which didn’t make sense since there was no infection. Dr Herman left the room and came back with an assistant who had a 3 foot long black device which was then abruptly put up my nose to see my sinuses with no explanation. I did not come in for sinus problems so why did he do this? It was, unnecessary, VERY unpleasant and uncomfortable. Then Dr Herman had me see the audiologist. Why? My hearing was not the issue… just some discomfort in my right ear. The audiologist brought me back and told me the equipment hadn’t been working properly but it might be ok this time. She ran a standard hearing test battery (I’ve been through this before)… but why? I… didn’t come in for a hearing problem. Only for some discomfort I’m my right ear. Again, an unnecessary procedure. The icing on the cake was when I mentioned some jaw pain on the same side as my ear problem. Dr Herman had me open my mouth and he wheezed inside my mouth unnecessarily hard. You don’t need to apply that much strength to ascertain a jaw or muscle condition. I left the office feeling worse than when I came in. I also feel that there were a number of unnecessary procedures that were performed to simply add to the insurance billing. I would not recommend Dr Herman to anyone. However, I have heard positive mention of other Doctors in the same office and will be sure to see them next time.

VERY pleased. Dr. Herman is skilled, caring,competent and informative. His staff is great too. Also, remarkably on time !

I love Dr Herman. He takes his time with you and explains everything. He is never in a hurry. I have been to him several times and Dr Herman did surgery on my husband’s nose and everything turned out well. I would recommend him to anyone. His bedside manner is great.

I had surgery for a deviated septum and chronic sinusitis. As a nurse for the past 45 years, I have to say I was very pleased with my overall experience with Dr. Herman and his entire office staff. I just can't believe I waited 20 years! The absolute relief is amazing and I felt comfortable and completely at ease with Dr. Herman's competence and expertise. I would not hesitate to recommend this practice to anyone.

My family doctor recommended me to Dr. Herman because I was suffering from chronic sinus infections that would not clear with antibiotics. My experience with Dr. Herman from my first visit to my final post op visit has been wonderful. He is very thorough and considered every possible alternative before suggesting surgery to me. I never felt rushed during my appointments and Dr. Herman took his time answering all of my questions and addressing my concerns. I ended up having sinus surgery and a septoplasty (to fix my deviated septum). As a 40-year-old who has never had surgery before, he certainly put me at ease. I HIGHLY recommend him to others who are in need of an ENT!

The worst doctor I have have encountered. He is rude and walks around like a crazy person. I'm not one to write reviews but doctor Herman is completely inappropriate with his comments and I would highly stay away from him.

Do not waste your time going to see this doctor!!! I can hardly believe he has the audacity to call himself that. He was rude and blatantly showed how little he cared for my situation. I have been sick for months and he basically brushed me off telling me he couldn't see anything wrong with me. He gave me a nasal spray and told me to call if it doesn't work. Trust me I won't be called by. Not him at least!! I saw another doctor in the practice and that doctor actually took time with me and listened to what I've been going through. I am beginning to feel like myself again. No thanks to Dr. Herman. Trust me don't waste your time with this uncaring pathetic waste of a doctor!!!

Dr. Herman helped me out in my time of need and I'm so grateful for it. I had a bad nosebleed that would not stop and my original ENT was not helping investigate what was going on. I had to stay at the hospital the bleeding was so bad--I passed out and had transfusions. Dr. Herman agreed to help investigate what was going on and what could actually be done to fix the problem since packing and hoping for clotting was not the right solution in this case. My follow-up appointments have been great at his office and he's continued to make sure I'm OK after he cauterized.

Excellent care. I was even seen on a Sunday.
