Dr. Richard Edward Jones III

Dr. Dickey Jones performed a (R) Knee replacement and (L) Hip replacement in 1994 and 1995. They are still going strong! I have RA since I was 21 and now in my 40’s and thankful my replacements are still not an issue. Been 24 years. I remember he worked with a guy named Buzz who was a character, but also as a excellent as Dickey.

Dickey did both of my hip replacements. He was the first doctor I'd found inDallas who knew about dwarfism and the different types. We discussed what was happening to my hips , the fact that it took me twice as many steps as an average size person, therefore wearing out my joints. He was very open and honest with me. His bed side manner is " the type all doctors should have with their patients". His " hugs" are worth any amount of wait time. His PA also a very special person, who started with Dickey 2 months before I did.

In 1992 when Dickey replaced both my knees, he told me they would last 10-15 years. I have just celebrated the 20th anniversary of bi-lateral knee replacement. The secret to keeping them working is to avoid infections. Fortunately, I had a PCD who gave me a good supply of amoxicillin so I could nip any infection in the bud, thus saving my knees.

This doctor is a God-send. He is genuine, compassionate, and down to earth. He is informal and casual. So dont call him "Doctor". He sais to me "Doctor is my job. My mom calls me Dickey. I want you to do the same". He is surrounded by an excellent staff who have all worked with Dickey for some 20+ years. That, in itself, says a lot! Sometimes my wait is only a few minutes, but at times my office visist can be quite lengthy. But I don't mind driving 6 hours to see him and even occasionally having a long wait. He is worth every minute of my time. If I wrote a book about him, I can never say enough about this wonderful man. God bless him!

His staff and paients call him Dickey..no formal Dr. Jones. He is a Christian man who gives all praise to the Lord for his healing hands. He replaced both hips of my x-husband and 1 hip of my son. I firmly believe my son would be in a wheel chair if any other surgeon and pa would have been doing the operation. Both my former husband and son walk perfect and are doing very well. In Oct 2009 Dickey replaced my right knee. To see me walk...you would never know. Dickey and Buzz are a blessing to anyone they operate on. I will be forever gratful to these wonderful doctors.

I hac TKA on both knees in 2009. Dr Jones used an epidural,It was great. My recovery started as soon as I got to my room. Compared to other TKA's I 've seen my recovery was a snap. I am happy to recommend Dr.Jones for surgery to any one who asks. He and his staff were very helpful and beneficial to my health and recovery. I ride my bike daily and am light years ahead of where I was last year.
