Excellent dr. Caring and took time to make a good diagnosis. Would definitely recommend.

Hate that I have to give A star. Went in after injuring myself moving. He told me I was “old and had arthritis” as a 42 year old 10k runner. Made me do 2 months of PT, then another. Refused to hear my concerns, as I cried and insisted how much pain I was in. Went elsewhere- and found over 1/3 of the cartilage in my hip had been torn for 5 months. He refused to even ask for a single test that could’ve shown that, and didn’t even remember what body part he was treating. Meanwhile, Jewett keeps refusing to provide my records, or only sends PT reports stating I was “doing great.” It took a 5 hour, $41k surgery to fix what Konsens couldn’t be bothered to look for. Go ANYWHERE else.

I had to introduce myself first, since he didn't. First words out of his mouth was: "I'm not operating on that knee." He went to tell me if I was an NBA player, he'd tell me to still play hurt. No physical therapy scheduled, even though I requested it. I had to return for a few follow up appts. Same terrible attitude. Denied my request for pt. This had been going on with workers comp for 18 months. I finally got him to agree to send me to PT, after he made. The snide comment: "Eighteen months later and NOW you want therapy?" He made this statement as he was exiting and not facing me. "Three weeks, it works or it doesn't." He then left the room and shut the door. I heard him complaining in the hallway in a very loud voice to his staff. I opened the door and confronted him. A brief argument later and I told him: " Dr, you are obviously reading a script from workers comp, just give me my paperwork so I can go." After I completed my pt, the therapist reccommended an additional 12… weeks of pt. The request went out twice, unanswered. I left a message for Dr. Konses to see if he would be receptive to me continuing or sessions. Since we had words previously, I thought it might be wise to feel him out before I made a wasted trip. It's been 2 weeks and no response. This Dr. has done absolutely nothing for me in regard to treatment except for or. It should be noted: He did release me and I sought outside treatment and a problem was detected. I had to bring my case to court. As soon as that happened, I was his patient again per workers comp. Do yourself a favor, seek another Dr.

This doctor offered no help with knee pain and swelling. He told me he could not do anything to help me and I needed to lose weight. He was rude and did not listen to me and interrupted me when I tried to ask questions. I have bone on bone in my knee and he didn't even suggest an injection or physical therapy. "I can make your knee look better but it won't solve the problem." Basically, too bad lady your overweight so lose weight and that will solve my problem. The worst part is they are allowing him to train young doctors. It was humiliating and a complete waste of time and money. The office staff are not very polite and cannot even offer a smile.

ACL reconstruction. Amazing surgeon and understood that my goals were not the same goals as some other 46 yr old females may be. I needed to be able to run, jump, climb....and I can!

The staff never smile! Doctor was Great! Looked at my X Rays and knew just wher it hurt and told me what we could do to fix it!

Dr. Konsens is an expert in his field. There is nothing he doesn't know about your knee. I have found him to be the most prompt doctor I've seen at Jewett Orthopedic. He spends the right amount of time with me; sometimes longer than other times. He has been courteous, professional, and friendly. There is a reason he is a Top Doctor in Castle Connelly. I highly recommend him for any problem you have with your knee.

The appointments staff at Jewett is awful, awful, awful! They are rude and nasty. It's not my fault that they're swamped with patients because they have the ortho monopoly in this area. I expect to be treated with a minimum of courtesy, and that hasn't happened the 4 times I've called.

If you are looking for someone to hold your hand or just give you a script for pain meds... Dr Konsens is not your Doctor... If you are looking for a highly skilled surgeon to repair your damage, I highly recommend Dr Konsens. He has performed surgery on both my husband (MMT, PCL Tear, LMT) and my knees (osteochondroma excision). He explains the problem, the options and lets you choose what to do. He had both of us back to our normal active lives relatively quickly after surgery. The staff at JOC is always professional and prompt. Don't be discouraged by the complainers... Dr Konsens is an outstanding Physician.
