Dr. Richard Pigg, MD

My ailing dad was a patient of Dr Pigg's. When it became obvious he needed Hospice Care I called the office to let them know. The hospice company called his office several times then they called me back and ask me to call Dr Pigg again. Finally the hospice company sent one of their nurses to go to his office to get the paperwork for hospice to come to my home to start taking care of my dad. They said they had not received any paperwork! The hospice nurse waited for over 30 minutes for them to get everything together that should have been done 2 days before. Even the hospice company said they had never had to deal with such an incompetent doctor's office before. So my dad had to wait (while he was in pain and dying) for 2-1/2 days longer in order to get hospice to start. If you can find another doctor I would.

The Office staff is rude and we can never get a hold of the Dr.

Last week I had an appt with dr. Pigg that was cancelled by his office and was asked to see a nurse asst. She pescribed Chlo Tusi for my cough and congestion. I had severe side effects and so called today for dr. Pigg to ask for alternate medications. My messages left @ 8:30 and 4:00 pm were Never returned. He left without returning my calls. I had been his parent from the start and with this group for nearly 20 years. This was very unprofessional. This is not the first occurrence.

He is the best doctor in all of Tennessee. If he had gotten ahold of my husband sooner he would have lived longer. He made it where he did live ten months longer. He couldn't even walk when he went to him the first day. He not only walked but, he was able to ride his Harley and, his won him n award and will be featured in Easy Ryder Magazine. I would. never go to a different doctor. Thank you Dr. Pigg for everything.

My grandmother asked for a referral to a genetic counselor due to her daughter (my mother) having breast cancer and undergoing genetic testing and finding that she had a genetic mutation called BRCA2. This mutation is hereditary, and my grandmother was concerned she may be the source and be at risk of developing cancer herself. Dr. Pigg said he needed to do some research and he would see. After dragging his feet for months doing his research, he said he didn't think it would be very helpful. My grandmother sought the testing anyway and found that she did have the BRCA2 mutation. She was immediately scheduled for a preventative hysterectomy. During the procedure she was found to have Ovarian Cancer already. Had Dr. Pigg been more knowledgeable, or cared to research more quickly, my grandmother may have been able to avoid cancer entirely. She is now in her second round of chemotherapy. The cancer is certainly not his fault, but I do believe he had opportunity to help and did not rise to… the occasion.

Dr Pigg was very compassionate with a good bedside manner. The staff was great in getting me in to see him even though my Dr was out of the office that day. The follow up with him and his staff was great. Good feeling to know this staff will take care of you. Im grateful ??

Very good bedside manner. Seems very concerned about his patients. I just lost my husband and he was very sympathetic. My whole family goes to him. Yes I would recommend him.
