Dr. Richard Earl Thorp, MD

He has been my doctor for over ten years. He is an outstanding doctor and an outstanding man. He really cares about his patients, and he spends a LOT of time with each patient. The one negative is that he spends so much time with every patient that he gets behind and a person may wait a long time past one's appointment time. The way around this is to call his office on the day of one's appointment and ask what time one should actually arrive.

When I arrived prior to my appointment time to hear of my test results I was told it would be an hour and a half wait, I may want to go get some dinner and come back.. Came back from dinner and was put in the exam room to wait another 45 minutes. Had to tell him why I was there and what was my test results as it was obvious he was not prepared for my appointment. By this time all offices are closed, he could not find my tests to even look at them. I expect when I have an appointment he would have researched and been ready for my visit. His lack of professionalism and care for his patients is NOT the kind of Doctor - Patient care I am looking for. Told he would call me today and as of yet do not have his call. If I could give him less them one star, I would.

Doctor was rude and gave me the wrong diagnosis. Seemed like he was trying to get done with me as fast as possible. Formed his own opinion of my condition and didnt seem to listen to anything I had to say. Thank god I got. A second opinion.
