Dr. Robert Joseph Arleo, MD

I was intrigued with the idea of the multifocal lenses as presented to me by the staff at Arleo Associates as a way of perhaps eliminating my need for glasses, even for reading. I was told that insurance does not pay for the "upgraded" lenses and so would be billed approximately $5,000. There was some rather strange comment in the exam from Dr. Arleo about how they carefully consider those appropriate for multifocal lenses, and I did not understand what criteria he was referring to when considering patients for these lenses. I asked lots of questions about the lenses, and was given vagaries about no 100% guarantee, that "everyone is different" to what I would think, was to manage my expectations. I was given a pamphlet from the lens company which showed these highly focused photos after surgery for near, mid-range and distance views. I was happy to think this might be me. Unfortunately, I was not told the potential downsides of these lenses (halos, distance vision is not as… good), and so I believe I was sold a bill of goods, not warned about these problems. I do not see as well as I did with glasses and cataracts before the surgery. After the surgery, I was told by another doctor in India that some people have lots of problems with multifocals. I wish I had heard the same from Dr. Arleo. I see without glasses, but acuity is not there. The rating is good because most of the staff were pleasant and seemingly competent.

I've been a patient there for many years, going back to when Doctor Bishop was the primary care giver. Since Dr. Arleo assumed responsibility for my care I've been impressed with his in-depth knowledge, his willingness the listen and finding answers to NY inquiries. He staff is great, professional, patient. I recommend Doctor Arleo strongly.

I have always had a pleasant experience at Arleo's. From Bobbi to Leigh, check in and check out is friendly, efficient and joyful. Dr. Stockwin is great. She is patient, kind and always takes the time to explain what is happening with your eyesight. I can't remember her name (but she is Madison's Mom!!), she is awesome. She does the testing and the prep work for Dr. Stockwin. And last, but definitely not least, there is my Carey. She is one awesome asset to this office. I am clueless when it comes to picking out frames, but she ALWAYS picks out a perfect frame for me and is mindful of the cost. I feel so blessed that Carey has been with the office for so long. I look forward to seeing her whenever I need new glasses. She is friendly, patient and kind. She is so very helpful. I truly enjoy her. She is efficient and always cheerful. I would highly recommend Arleo's for your vision needs.

I have going to Dr. Arleo for many years and in all that time have had great service. Dr. Arleo and his staff have always treated me with respect and a caring attitude to which I am grateful. From corrective Lasik Surgery to removing my cataracts it has always been a comfortable environment and experience. I would recommend his office for anyone in need.

Recently Dr. Arleo did two cataract operations for me. He was excellent in every respect. Dr. Arleo and his staff are caring, open and communicative about procedures, very professional and encouraging. The work done by every member of the staff is encouraging and re-assuring. I highly recommend Dr. Arleo and those who work with him.

And Iwas credited during my business career as innovating and implementing the first Quality Management System for professional services in the Western Hemisphere, earning a 97.7% "meets or exceeds client expectations" rating. I gave my first experience with Dr. Arleo and his office staff a perfect score in care and service to me! I have never had this experience before that in any physician's office. Beyond great!

I recently had cataract surgery & a lens implant for astigmatism. For the first time in my life, I can watch TV & read the clock while in bed & without wearing glasses. Dr. Arleo is a miracle worker! The whole process was quick & painless and everyone was kind, helpful & professional. Whether you are struggling to read or see what's going on at a distance, I strongly recommend that you call Dr. Arleo. My only regret is that I didn't call him sooner!

The best-and I've seen alot of eye doctors to judge by!

Office is completely mismanaged. They made an appointment. When the patient arrived -- after a long wait -- they refused to see the patient, because the patient had insurance which they didn't take -- even though the patient was ready to pay cash. This is actually a federal crime.The reception area was badly understaffed, with the receptionists interrupting patients waiting in order to take other phone calls.
