Dr. Robert Bruce Bracken, MD

If not for his wait and see policy I would be cancer free today.

He saved my life what more is there to say to that.

I went two times. The first was to a faraway satellite location because apparently this guy is in high demand. Waited 30 minutes before asking receptionists how much longer. They said 45 minutes. Three other people in the room had been scheduled for the same time, plus or minus 15 minutes and they were not happy either. Since I was out of time I rescheduled. When I got there the second time they had trouble finding my name and then told me that he had cancelled. The staff doesn't get high marks either for being so clueless and aloof. Boy we sure pay a lot of money to be treated like jerks.

If your expecting a dr who personally takes care of you. This is not the dr for you. When problems arise, don't expect to hear from him. Most likely you will only be in contact with his nurse Neil. If you are ever in an emergency at a different hospital again.... Even if you are a dr, don't expect to hear from him. He is very condecending with his tone and how he speaks to you. Expect to be talked down too. I am a cosmetologist, and he acted like he didn't know what that was. Come on doc, I know what you are getting at. Just because I was asking questions, you didn't like that. So why not make me seem little compared to you. My family as well as I were very unhappy with dr brackens services, but unfortunately we didn't have much control over anything. His way of practicing is old school and outdated! Long story short, go get a second opinion or see someone else!

he is the only doctor that has not given up on my husband after being over radiated for prostate cancer.

Pre-op experience before the day of surgery was generally positive. The doctor spent time in explaining options and weighing in based on his vast experience. The day of surgery things started heading in a different direction. A PA was sent in to do the pre-op meeting with patient and family. PA did a good job, but no sign of the Doctor was a minus. Post-op visit with family was thorough, but a bit condescending. Post-op visits with the patient were almost non-existent. Even when problems arose Bracken was un-available. When he did show up it was for 5 minutes to calm things down and make excuses for his MD staff while throwing the nursing staff under the bus without cause. The entire tone of his visit was condescending and uninformative. Never laid out a plan or what were the decision points around a release from the hospital. While this physician has a lot of experience, his better days seem to be behind him, and would not recommend him currently for others.
