Dr. Robert Nelson Cann JR., MD

I've been Dr. Robert Cann's patient for over 25 years. He's always taken the time to listen to my concerns and then followed up with an explanation, along with his opinion and recommendations. As an internist, many times he's referred me to medical specialist and conferred with other physicians regarding my care. His staff is knowledgeable, efficient and well organized. Actually, he' a no non-sense doctor with a great bedside manner.

Dr. Cann is fantastic, caring and such an attentive listener. While he sees things diagnostically quite clearly, he also has such a wonderful manner. He has been my physician for many years now and when my company changes health policies i don't go with the plan, I stay with the doctor. He is worth it!

This doctor has the rudest, unprofessional, militant office staff I've ever seen. These guys run an operation that resembles a clinic in an inner city of the failed city of Detroit MI or South Side Chicago. Courteous, professional service do not exist here. As to medical treatment, the doctor didn't seem to know a whole lot but making lots of guesses, despite the number of years of experience he's listed. He ordered wrong tests and when the results came in, his office didn't follow-up. And when I tried to find out the test results, the doctor gave me the information belonging to another patient! This is NOT a place where you can trust your life with. Beside, their rudeness should act as a repellant as is. By the way, Robert Cann's wife is an eye doctor (ophthalmologists), sharing the same lousy office staff.

My encounter with this physician was good. He's pretty friendly (sometime) and fairly competent. He can be short and rushy. His office staff members on the other hand, are not impressive at all. In particular, a woman (heavy set Hispanic looking) at the reception window behaved like she was working at a run-down clinic. She was not only unfriendly, she came across like you're her enemy. I am not sure what inspired Dr. Cann to hire such a staff to chase away his patients.

Dr. Cann is constained by HMOs in the amount of patient time/reimbursement he is given. Otherwise, he puts all of himself into your case with sincerity. He knows medicine and thoughtful in diagnosis.
