Dr. Robert Matthew Carroll, MD

Dr Carroll is excellent. I was told by another physician (surgeon) not to let him go. It was a big surprise that he left the Costa Mesa facility. I had just had an appointment with him the very day before he left. No on ever made mention of it until I got a letter from UCI. I am still going to insist on continuing with him, but no one will give me information.

Does anyone know why he left his position at UCI? Is he still at Hoag? He just disappeared and his staff won’t tell us anything. Hw literally was a huge part of saving my life from 2 diagnoses of esophageal cancer. I feel very nervous about not having him for my after care!

I was treated by Dr. Carol for two years at the Newport UCI center. He was extremely knowledgeable and educated me on my diagnosis and treatment options in a way that I could fully understand the weigh options. He also researched and presented several clinical and drug trials to further aid in my treatment. I’m happy to write that I am now cancer free and I am extremely grateful for Dr. Carol’s expertise and care. I would recommend him to anyone meeting and then colleges that is knowledgeable, thorough, caring and on the leading edge of cancer treatment.

Dr Carroll has a unique personality that. To some may appear detached but he is brilliant and deeply cares for his patients. His ongoing search for new treatments and knowledge of procedures are amazing. He is so smart that you may have to ask him to explain things on a level that you can understand. I know I am in the best hands with this brilliant doctor.

I have been a patient for over 2 years, Dr. Carroll is the best, he takes on your case with professionalism and in search of what is best for your diagnosis. Dr. Carroll is kind and attentive. His staff is amazing. In the unfortunate event that you may need an oncologist, he is one of the best.

Dr. Carroll immediately came across as both extremely knowledgeable and very personable. He delivered new and timely information about my condition in a way that i could understand, made me feel comfortable asking questions, and provided helpful and actionable answers.

The doctor was pompous and arrogant and extremely over priced. My husband and I had an appointment together, 3o minutes tops and he sent me a bill for $440 and my husband a bill for $330. $ 770 fir 30 minutes and why the difference in price. We brought our own labs!

Dr. Carroll diagnosed a blood condition for me in preparation for surgery. I found him to be conscientious, professional and extremely thorough. He went above and beyond to dig into the cause and ramifications of my condition when he could've taken an easier route. He is a rare find in this day and age of "McDonald's" medical care which has been created by insurance companies.
