Dr. Robert B Cravens, MD

Dr cravens encouraged me to undergo rhinoplasty. Seems like a dangerous kind of surgery to push but I guess if you only care about money or your own interest it doesn’t matter. He also insulted me multiple times. Save yourself the anguish and go somewhere else.

Dr. Cravens is a great doctor. He has a wonderful bedside manner. He actually spends time with you and takes an interest in you. He asks you about yourself and gets to know you. He is very knowledgeable and is always willing to answer your questions. Never felt like he was rushing to go see the next patient or like he would rather be doing something else. Very easy to talk to and is an all around nice guy. Highly recommend. You do have to book appointments quite a ways out and the wait time can be a little long but well worth the wait.

No ENT is worth waiting 2 hours for!!!! 1 1/2 hours in the waiting room and 1/2 hour in the exam room. I left without being seen.

I have seen Dr. Cravens 3 times. He seemed to be very competent and had a nice manner. This fact, however, is greatly overshadowed by the awful, rude and downright nastiness of his staff. They treat you like dirt. Communication with the doctor is impossible because of his staff. Also, he overbooks patients. No matter what time your appointment is, there is usually a wait of 2 hours or more. Never apologizes for the wait, even though he is well aware that he is running way behind. DO NOT use this practice unless you like to be abused by staff people.

I was diagnosed with Level 2 cancer on a vocal cord in late 2009, and went to Dr Cravens for a 2nd opinion on procedure. While the result was the same (a laryngectomy) his demeanor was such that I knew I wanted him to do the surgery. I wasn't wrong. He has been nothing but professional and helpful throughout the past 5 years. Yes, sometimes the delay on seeing him for a scheduled appointment was a bit infuriating, but he is good, and takes the time to resolve problems with each patient when they are there for their appointments; I never left unsatisfied. And he never seemed rushed, even though he had to know he was way behind on his schedule. And, yes, there have been some staff problems in the past, but they see to have been resolved. Now, my cancer is gone, and I will not have to go back to see him. But I will recommend him to anyone who has any ENT problems - because he CARES.

The staff is the worst part of this office. The Dr is really nice. All staff lack communication and is very frustrating to deal with, from the front desk to the medical assistant to the surgery scheduler. I have canceled appts with him and it does not get done. I canceled a surgery because I was going to be out of the country. I returned to a message on my cell phone saying if I tried to cancel the surgery that I already canceled I would be charged a fee. The fee was substantial. I would be embarrassed to have a staff like this. I like to think Dr Craven's is not aware of what is going on with his staff.

I came in to see Dr. Cravens for a growth in the back of my throat. When guided to a room to wait for Dr. Cravens, I could hear him talking to other staff for more than a half hour about things not work related, already 45 min past apt time. No biggie, just annoyed. When he finally comes in and takes a 2 second glance at my throat, announces my bump as a pleomorphic adenoma. My first thought is, how can you be so sure especially without a test. I ask for a biopsy even though he strongly tried to talk me out of it suggesting he sees these all the time. 2 weeks later, no calls regarding the pathophysiology. No biggie again, I call and they state no malignancies. Not feeling comfortable with how all this went down, went to a different doctor whom after I showed her the picture of my previous bump, is very sure it was not a pleomorphic adenoma. She requests the results from Dr Cravens and indeed it was not. Still no malignancy, new diagnosis of tonsil tag. The pathologist determining is… well renown and I now feel at ease with current ENT doctor. All In All, Dr. cravens appeared unprofessional, quick to judge and ultimately misdiagnosed me. Not the kind of doctor I want to see again. I don't typically write reviews, but I would feel it would do someone injustice to not mention my experience, especially when it comes to health.

The most memorable part of my visit was that I waited an hour to see him. Instead of apologizing for the delay, he didn't even acknowledge it. Suffice it to say, you want a doc who is knowledgeable, but also respects your time as well. This one didn't.

Has done surgery on my neck 3 times. Was professional and caring. Would recommend him highly.

I waited over two hours past my appointment time and finally threw in the towel and left the office. The office staff was rude, condescending and unprofessional from the start. One of the office ladies even shouted to a patient in the waiting room for information she left off of one of her forms meaning all the people in the waiting room could hear what was being discussed. After telling one of the ladies I was leaving after waiting TWO HOURS past my appointment time, she looked at me like I was no better than a piece of gum off of her shoe and basically said she couldn't care less what I did. All of the women in that office are so incredibly unprofessional and unfriendly its absolutely ridiculous. I never ended up seeing the doctor, after sitting in the waiting room for an hour and in a back room for another hour, my faith in this office was absolutely shot. Why would I trust someone to do a major surgery on my body if he can't even hire a decent staff who knows/cares what is going… on? The most horrendous staff I have ever encountered in my life, I will never return.
