Dr. Robert K. Fullick

I was referred to Dr. Fullick by other doctors within the UTPhysicians family when I developed problems with my shoulder. Dr. Fullick did a quick physical exam, listened to my complaint and discussed my options. He told me that surgery would fix the problem but that it is a very painful surgery with a long recovery time. He strongly recommended physical therapy first to see if strengthening the shoulder would allow it to heal, so that is what I did. Unfortunately, that didn't work, so I returned to Dr. Fullick and received a steroid injection that helped tremendously. However, once the effects of the shot wore off, my shoulder was still hurting and, unfortunately, had become frozen. I again visited Dr. Fullick and we decided on surgery. The surgery went well (released my frozen shoulder and repaired the damaged tendon) and, because of the frozen shoulder, I began PT 2 days following surgery. He was right - it was a painful surgery and recovery! I was told that recovery would… take 6-9 months, but I can now move my arm with little to no pain (I'm less than 3 months post surgery) and I am almost finished with PT. Dr. Fullick has been the model of what a surgeon should be. He was very conservative in his approach (not jumping to the OR at first visit) and was very good at educating me about my problem and what options I had. I would (and have) absolutely recommend Dr. Fullick to any of my friends or family that might have the need for a shoulder/knee surgeon.

He destroyed my shoulder. Now I’m facing a total replacement due to his negligence His nurse shauntel is a nightmare I was a trauma patient. He never x rayed me He never did a follow up after he sent me for pt. He sent me for a steroid shot without examining me. Shauntel says it would be a waste of time to see dr Fullick I end up in ER BY MY HOUSE WITH PAIN SO HIGH THAT MORPHINE CANT CALM The ER CALLS dr Fullick. Still NO follow up when I get out of Er. Now I have NO CARTILAGE NO JOINT NECROSIS IN MY SHOULDER. TEARS IN MY ROTATOR CUFF. ALL DUE TO HIS LACK OF ATTENTION. CHRONIC PAIN. !!!!!!BEWARE

My husband saw Dr. Fullick for his shoulder which he said get an xray...no mri and then just gave him a steroid shot. I agree that did help his pain but Fullick did not appear to try and help him. My husband has not been able to get a follow up appointment and it has been 6 months! He has been cancelled on 4 times for the followup. This guy is in it for the money and could care less about patient care. Do NOT go see him!

I would highly recommend Dr. Fullick. I had seen another orthopedic surgeon twice over 6 months for rotator cuff pain until the pain got so bad that I requested an MRI. This other doctor was arrogant and never acted that interested in my problem. He said heâ??d do surgery without needing to read the MRI report. So as a new patient, I took the MRI report to Dr. Fullick. Dr. Fullick spent time and explained everything about the surgery drawing a diagram of my shoulder, the tendons and what would happen in surgery. He was patient and answered every question I had. I had so much confidence in Dr. Fullick that I scheduled surgery then and there. On the day of the surgery, he went over again, drawing a diagram on the hospital bed pillow (!) what he would be doing. He performed arthroscopic surgery, making 5 portal incisions. He repaired a tendon which had a full thickness tear, another which had a high grade tear, and severe tendinopathy in another. He also scrapped my hooked… (type 3) acromion bone (bone that forms the roof of the shoulder). In subsequent office visits, he answered any questions I had and always gave me confidence that I had chosen the right doctor! Iâ??ve been in physical therapy for my shoulder for several months (itâ??s a slow process). In my books, heâ??s a great doctor!

I was referred to Dr Fullick by Walter Lowe who scoped my right shoulder many years ago. After an initial visit with a followup after my MRI, it was determined I had a tear on my labrum and possible tear on my rotator cuff, both from years of lifting. I will be scheduling arthroscopic surgery in August. I have total confidence in Dr Fullicks ability to get me right again. Being a fellow aggie, I know he's the right choice. Will give a followup after my surgery and recovery.

Superb interpersonal skills, to go with his excellent medical knowledge.
