Dr. Robert Carlyle Grumet

This doctor was very rude on my last visit when I was complaining to him about his PA and staff did not submit necessary documentation to have an injection approved. He immediately got up and left. And I paid for that visit. He also on another visit said he never received my injection when my pharmacist delivered to his office. I had to show the proof of the text from my pharmacy as delivered. After showing the proof his staff was searching and found just receipts and not the actual box which had my name on it. That injection was given to someone else. They had to substitute with other box. But this doctor is very rude and his staff is very incompetent and will never return calls. Because of their problems it is effecting my treatment. He is responsible for it. I do not recommend anyone seeing him and not to take risk.

I visited Dr. Grumet's office as he was recommended by a friend. I found his staff to be very thorough, friendly and made you feel at ease immediately. I met Dr. Grumet and I liked him very much because he was thorough in telling me what was my diagnosis was, what the prognosis is long term and told what he how he would like to treat my particular case with the pros and cons so I could understand his reasoning. He had a great bedside manner, And I really appreciate that he got me. I have been doing Taekwondo for 14 years and don't want to give it up. He got that. So he is working on ways for me to be able to continue my martial arts training, running and weight lifting. Instead of telling me to try other exercises and that didn't interest me. That was probably the most important part is that he totally understood why I need to get back to my exercise routine and the things I love to do!

Saw his PA two times and we all thought we were headed towards surgery. Finally saw Dr. Grumet who suggested a brace for my knee rather than rushing to surgery. I appreciate his wisdom as he discussed his reasons for this conservative approach. Good communicator explaining and he drew pictures as we discussed how to best handle my meniscus tear. Friendly , approachable doctor. Thank you!

I like him a lot. He explains very well and is easy to work with. He tells it like it is as well.

Dr. Grumet determined the correct diagnosis when a previous doctor erred. My husband had urinary surgery in 2011 (not by Dr. Grumet) and developed an abscess near the ischium. He was treated with IV antibiotics. When the pain returned, we saw a different orthopedic surgeon who said my husband had a small ischial fracture. My husband took pain medication and rested for two months waiting for the alleged fracture to heal. The pain worsened. We then saw Dr. Grumet for a second opinion in late 2011. Dr. Grumet said he saw no fracture at all, and he thought the original infection had progressed to osteomyelitis, a terrible bone infection. He confirmed this with an MRI, and my husband was finally treated with two more lengthy courses of intravenous antibiotics (a total of 27 weeks) for this recurrent infection. Dr. Grumet was very sympathetic and obviously very competent. He saved my husband from the previous doctor's incorrect diagnosis. My husband is now at the one year mark since… stopping his intravenous antibiotics. Dr. Grumet gave us hope and a way out of the terrible pain my husband suffered. We will be eternally grateful to Dr. Grumet for this diagnosis and his careful review of my husband's problem.

This doctor gave me great advice for my medical condition and he is does not rush into surgery unless needed.

Best Doctor Ever!!!!! Can't say enough great things about him!!! Patient, kind, intelligent, caring, humble. Broke the mold with this guy!!!!

Dr. Grumet had to give me some terrible news about the debilitating illness of GTB - Greater Troncanteric Bursitis. While I went to him looking to confirm that it was what I had because no other Dr. had even suggested it, he confirmed it. It is very painful, never gets better and I take a lot of meds just to walk. However, I am now experiencing more complications with my legs and hip and for some reason his staff or maybe him, have refused to continue to see me as a patient. He is a very well educated and kind man but his office staff is very non-committal to patient needs, with zero follow up.
