Dr. Robert Hartmann, MD, FACOG

Horrible doctor. Incredibly rude, and invalidated what was going on with me like he’s lived in my body and he knew better. Thank goodness I didn’t listen to him, I’d be dealing with a ruptured cyst if I had. I wouldn’t recommend him to a single soul.

He started the appointment out with “oh you actually made it to 16 weeks, that’s good.” And then proceeded to say, “so it’s no secret you’re fat, I’m surprised you don’t have diabetes” and then as he was looking for the heartbeat he said, “this would be easier without all this extra fat on your stomach.” Now keep in mind, I am mildy overweight and even if I was extremely obese, you should not talk to your pregnant patients like that. I left the office in tears. I will never see him again.

Dr Hartmann handled my 4th c-section which was more stressful for me because my uterus was extremely thin and the possibility of uterine rupture was there. My daughter was delivered at 37 weeks which also added to my stress because all my other babies were full term. Dr Hartmann was AMAZING in the OR and kept me calm and completely relaxed during the entire procedure because he was aware of my extreme anxiety. Dr Hartmann also handled tying my tubes and it has been almost 2 weeks since my surgery and I am feeling great. I am so thankful for Dr Hartmann’s compassion, professionalism and skill because he made sure that my last child birth was a memorable one :) I cannot thank him enough for how well he handled my c-section and tubal while keeping me calm throughout the entire procedure. Amazing Dr whom I highly highly recommend!!!!

He made me very, very uncomfortable. I left freaked out and was sick for the rest of the day after the visit.

His bedside manner is horrible! He delivered one of our children and it was the worst experience of my life. Since then we have had 3 other children and I refuse to have him even near me. When the rest of the physicians in the practice are so good why would you chose him? He is pretentious, smug and has that proverbial chip. I have heard you either love him or hate him, unfortunately with my experience I fall into the latter category..... This is by no means a reflection on the office staff they are awesome! It is sad though when they are going over open ob appointments and mention he always has openings and I say ,yeah I know why and then apologize and they say no we get that a lot. That is saying something....

This physician should not be in practice. Our first time meeting with him, he answered a phone call from his son while we were in mid-sentence. He had an entire conversation with him, ending with "No, you can't go over to his house". He diagnosed my second miscarriage by saying "Welp, looks like its not going to work again." My husband, distraught, passed out in the exam room. Dr Hartmann didn't move to get up, neither did the nurse. I, half clothed, had to get off the table and help him into a chair. Dr Hartmann then yelled to the nurse that he was having a seizure. (He was not.) We have not gone back to him. It scares me that he takes care of women everyday.
