Where to even begin! As a nurse for many years I was not expecting this level of outstanding care. I worked with many offices and surgeons and this was outstanding. From the greeter at the front desk, first floor, to Dr. Hartzler and his staff the entire experience was second to none. Every single person was kind, respectful, and truly went above and beyond to make sure I was cared for. Weeks later I had surgery and that team was equally as exceptional. Dr. Hartzler and Dr. Poku each came in and explained everything in detail and ensured both my husband and I understood everything and were at ease. The nurses were wonderful. Shanna was so patient with me and so sweet. I asked her about her job and she said she’s been there over a year and even she kept wondering when the “shoe would drop” thinking there was no way work could be this great, yet here she is and she said the staff are genuinely like this all the time. The lovely lady who greeted me when I went back to pre-op was… hilarious and made me feel at ease (because I was incredibly late and very nervous) 5 stars truly is not enough. Having been in San Antonio for 15 years, all in healthcare, I have to say that TSAOG should be the standard by which all other facilities compare themselves. I guarantee if they did, all healthcare in San Antonio would be exceptional!

Dr. Hartzler performed a reverse shoulder replacement on me and I have had no problems since. I recommend him and his team highly and with no reservations. Everyone on both his surgical and office staffs have been exceptional. They are quick to respond and to return calls, as well as being supportive, concerned for my well being, and always up-beat and very kind. I highly recommend TSAOG, Dr. Hartzler and his staff to anyone oncerned about joint help and joint replacement.

Dr. Hartzler is the best and so are his staff. We are so glad we found him. We love to see his face light up when he shows us pictures of his kids.

I have nothing but great things to say about my experience with Dr. Hartzler and all of the staff at TSAOG Orthopedics. I have been dealing with chronic pain for over 15 years and have seen many doctors throughout this time. Dr. Hartzler was the first doctor to ask me for a in-depth history and thoroughly examine me. Although my issue ended up being unrelated to my shoulder, he took the time to order more testing and referred me to a colleague of his in pain management. He and his staff even walked me through the steps necessary to get approvals through my insurance for the referral and additional imaging orders. I’m so grateful to Dr. Hartzler. For the first time in all my years of dealing with chronic pain, I finally feel a sense of a hope, which means more than to me than I can say. To Dr. Hartzler and all the staff at TSAOG, thank you sincerely for all that you do!

Great experience. Top notch staff. Had an injection in my shoulder. Didn’t even feel the injection. Somewhat of a wait between X-rays and seeing the doctor, but not excessive. Highly recommend.

Dr Hartzler and his entire staff are top notch professionals and go the extra mile to ensure patients needs are met. Everyone from the prep nurse to Dr Hartzler made sure that I was comfortable and at ease throughout my shoulder surgery

Dr. Hartzler took the time to explain my mother’s arm fracture. He listened to her explain her history. And she felt heard. He provided x-ray images of what a surgery would look like and explained risks and benefits. He educated us on the pathways we had to make the safest and least invasive decision for my mom. He is watching her closely and monitoring her arm fracture. And we look forward to his guidance for rehabilitation soon when she heals and has function back.

TSAOG has succesfully treated my shoulder(s) pain for years with steroid injections. That treatment no longer works. I had my right shoulder replaced in 2023 and the left this year. Both were fully successful in treating the pain and restoring my range of motion. The weight I can lift, while reduced, still allows for normal daily function. I was most impressed with Dr. Hartzler personally calling and texting me the evening of the surgery, answering questions and providing a text number for follow-up the next day. My follow-up office visit was 1 week after surgery.

I was very nervous going knowing that I'd have to have total reverse shoulder replacement surgery. Dr. Hartzler did a great job of explaining my situation and the surgery and making me feel at ease. The surgery went very smooth and my recovery went much quicker than expected. Within a couple of weeks I had no surgical pain and the pain I had been suffering from for years sleeping was gone. By 3 months my range of motion was very good, much better than I expected. I am 4 months now and am able to do all my normal daily activities and many things I couldn't do prior to the surgery. I feel like I have my life back. I chose Dr. Hartzler for his vast experience and excellent reviews. I feel like it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. I highly recommend Dr. Hartzler to anyone having shoulder problems.

Torn tendons in right shoulder.... I had 2 very respected surgeons tell me that my shoulder could not be repaired. Dr Hartzler looked at it and told me that he didn't see a problem. He got me in quickly, did the surgery and at 16 weeks, I am very happy. Pain is gone, range of motion is good. I need a little strengthening and I think I will be a good as new.
