Dr. Robert Sidney Hood, MD

Unfortunately I've had 3 surgeries on my spine, but I was fortunate to have 5 separate doctors refer him to me the first time and I would have never had any one else after that. Dr. Hood's bedside manner is just so comfortable & he puts you at ease as he explains what he'll be doing to get you back to pre-injury condition. His nurse Marian is phenomenal, professional & as great as they come! I recommend everyone I know that needs back surgery to this unbelievable man.

After wasting my time at a local spine clinic thank God I was referred to Dr. Hood.....trust his diagnosis....he's spot on....nothing was as serious as the other doctors portrayed .....he's the BEST...

Dr. Hood is an excellent surgeon who diagnosed my back problem, scheduled a prompt surgery, and performed the operation to the highest standard. I am now free of all pain and have a normal life. Dr. Hood has a great bedside manner but even it he didn't his skills would cause me to recommend him to anyone having a back problem needing surgery.

I highly recommend Dr. Hood for issues with your spine. He went into great detail to explain what had happened, showed me on my MRI. He gave me a new life, full of activity and happiness.

When Dr. Hood seen me for the first time - after being diagnosed with a large Acoustic Neuroma brain tumor with secondary - severe - Hydrocephalus - I was in critical condition. My tumor was 3cm and was pushing on my third ventricle causing severe Hydrocephalus. I was very sick and he scheduled surgery two weeks after our first meeting. He took the time to explain every step of the procedure. He always made me feel as though I was his only patient and his compassion for his patients is indescribable; he always spoke with a positive tone. The first surgery - to remove the tumor - was projected to take eight hours; however, once he opened my skull and assessed the extensive damage - and the tumor was stuck to my brain stem - it took 17 hours to successfully remove the tumor. I owe this man my life. I unfortunately had many complications post-op, for years, and he took such good care of me. Marian, his surgical nurse, was equally outstanding along with everyone on his staff.

Making an appointment with him is near impossible! Waited four day for his nurse to call back to see if she still needed to talk with the doctor about making getting me in. I had surgery with another doctor the next day. Good Luck.
