Dr. Robert B Levene, MD

Dr Levene is one of Saint Joseph's most unsung heroes in the practice of medicine in Northwest Missouri. He is an exceptional diagnostician who does not limit himself solely to traditional cookie cutter medical care--as a continual and lifelong scholar of comprehensive, whole-person care, he is willing to think and explore options other physicians would consider outside of the box. Because he goes the extra mile and he does not settle for the limited options and treatments if a patient is not responding quickly to a plan of care, his patients are more likely to receive the correct diagnosis and course of care from the start and to have a better alternative course of treatment identified and implemented if needed. In addition to being extremely knowledgeable and well read, Doc is a kind man who will take the time to actively listen to concerns and take time to provide explanations. A true healer, he even gives patients his personal cell phone number if the patient condition or course of… treatment could result in an emergent situation at a time outside posted office hours. How many health practitioners are willing to do that? The wait time sometimes reflects his willingness to spend time with his patients--but you can be assured that he will spend equal time with you if needed. Just factor it into your planning. We were thrilled when he returned to his regular practice because the care we got from the doctor we got when Docwent to strictly complementary care (less than five minutes face time, doctor walking out making chart notes before we had even finished outlining the reason for the visit, defaulting to the most basic of diagnosis and car...I could go on...) made us even more aware of how exceptional Doc Levene is in all aspects of the Doctor-patient experience. Highly recommend him!!

Dr. Levene is excellent at truly understanding symptoms and making sure to test everything necessary to fully treat the problem. I cannot say how much better my life has been since seeing Dr. Levene. I wish I had found him years ago.
