Dr. Robert Barry Lurate, MD

I am writing this review as i wait with my mother in the waiting room to check her in before her surgery... But of course she’s not able to get her surgery because the office staff has made ANOTHER huge mistake and can’t find her anywhere in the schedule. This has happened multiple times about mix up in appointment scheduling! His office staff absolutely sucks! Michaela has made a bunch of errors and i don’t know why she is still working there. She is completely incompetent THIS IS THE WORST TREATMENT MY MOM HAS EVER HAD.

Dr. Lurate has seen me through many different orthopedic problems and has always been attentive to my concerns. Two of the main things I am thankful for is his willingness to answer my questions so that I can make an informed decision. and that through 20 surgeries I've not had any infections!

Thank you Dr Lurate and thank you Michaela. You helped me through a rough time. I thank you for the time. I don't see how you make any money with all the time you had to deal with my insurance. It's been several months now and I'm doing great.

We had a big watch party for LSU-Auburn game. Got to talking about football injuries and we discover that Dr Lurate has operated on 8 of the 10 people who had orthopedic surgery. He’s operated on me and two of my family but was surprised about the other 5 he had operated on. Hips, neck, shoulder, knee and my niece’s broken elbow. Everyone he did is doing great! We started calling him the Bo Jackson of orthopedics. Then we find out there are millennials at this LSU-Auburn party who didn’t know who Bo Jackson is!!! So to make up for LSU stealing the game, we watched Bo Jackson highlights! Thank you Dr Lurate my neck is doing great

After two hours alone in an exam room I walked out. Extremely discourteous and just plain rude to expect one to wait unattended in an exam room for a doctor who never showed.

I am a patient of Dr. Vandenburg’s and Dr. Marshall did shoulder replacement on me which has by the way has been AMAZING!!! I am not having all the pain I had before the surgery. My husband changed jobs so I hope his new insurance will continue to pay for me to see all these doctors here. I have a bad knee and hip and don’t wanna go to anyone else. I guess I will know soon. I can say that everyone of these doctors have been nothing but AWESOME to me and trying to get my RA and my joint problems taken care of. I recommend them to my family and friends!! Thanks to all of you at the Rheumatology and Othopedic offices!!!!

Unfortunately with my health problems I have seen more doctors than I ever wish. Dr Lurate is hands down the most memorable. He took the time to listen to me. He asked the right questions and ended up making the diagnosis (outside of orthopedics) that should have been made by the other specialists. When I needed orthopedic fixing, he took the time to explain everything to me and took great care of me. So nice to be pain free. Thank you.

He is arrogant man I will never see him again

Incompetent staff and arrogant surgeon. Stay away, stay far away!
