Dr. Robert E Matefy, PhD

This is directed to all of those individuals who are seeking a competent, experienced and caring therapist. I am writing this review because after many years of looking for a therapist who would listen to me, respect me, guide me and advise me, I finally found a professional who would turn my life around—Dr. Robert Matefy. After listening to his advice and following his recommendations, I am happier and more confident than I have been in a very long time. Thanks a million Dr. Matefy!

Have been a patient for nearly 5 years. An amazing listener and has helped me to understand challenging characteristics which have plagued me for years - and more importantly to cope, manage and thrive.

Dr. Matefy is a good listener and patiently helps me to discover my erroneous ways. He provides a safe place that allows me to get rid of thoughts and behaviors that get in the way of my recovery, replacing them with more positive changes. He is experienced and knowledgeable, like a kind wise and accepting father figure that I trust will help me find the right way. He sends me articles relating to what I am going through and also assigns homework as part of my therapy. I still have a way to go but Dr. Matefy has taught me good coping skills. I have recommended him to family and friends.

Excellent therapist who listens, helps, but makes his patients do the work of self-improvement. Helped me get through a major life crisis/transition beautifully. Caring and concerned.

Awful. I saw him as a young adult/adult and, come to find out, he would report things back to my mother. He would tell her things that I said confidentially. Unethical. Would never recommend him to anyone.
