Dr. Robert Leroy Salisbury, MD

I cannot sing the praises enough of the care I got at KGH. But more impressive is the time and bedside manner Dr. Salisbury has for his patients. He by far is one of the most knowledgeable, thorough and trusted Dr.'s I've ever experienced and having had 5 full term births, a miscarriage, and with a history of family cervical cancer, I hope that gives you a frame of reference.

Dr. Salisbury is a wonderful surgeon. I was very nervous about my surgery and he was very understanding of my emotions. I trust him completely and never felt uncomfortable around him. He is very caring and knowledgeable. It is not easy to find a doctor of his qualities. He did a great job on my surgery and my recovery was fast. Highly recommend Dr. Salisbury. Will definitely refer him to my family and friends who live here.

Excellent surgeon in my case. It is 8 years later and my repair remains intact! He is a very kind person and I miss being his patient. Highly recommend him.

By far, Dr. Salisbury is the worst OBGYN I have ever been to. His attitude was like, "why are you here?" Not only did I wait almost an hour in the office, I waited another 30-45 mins in the exam room. He proceeded to tell me after I told him I wasn't actively trying to get pregnant, that I needed all these tests to determine risk factors for my baby. (that I wasn't pregnant with) He then told me that I needed to abort a baby with developmental disabilities and they run tests for that reason. My mouth was on the floor. (this is my first time seeing him BTW) I told him I had lost weight and was still in process of losing weight before getting pregnant. 60 lbs to be exact. He told me I was obese and laughed at me. I have never been treated like that at any physician in my whole life. This was my first time trying someone new after going to the same person for most of my life and I left feeling completely humiliated. It was almost like he didn't want to spend any more time with me after I… told him I didn't want a bunch of unnecessary tests. Sorry you couldn't rack up a big bill with me because I have insurance!

DO NOT SEE THIS GUY. Where do I start. Looking for a new DR for my wife as hers was leaving the practice. I researched and read reviews the one about how this dr helped a couple with fertility issues persuaded us to try him. we were able to get an appointment within 2 weeks(not bad) but from that point on it went down hill, when I called to book appointment I provided them with our insurance information. when we arrived for our appointment the front desk staff were busy talking to each other. we were the only people in his part of the lobby. My wife provided the insurance information again. we waited in Lobby about 20min. then his nurse took us back to a room. Did Not take any vitals. 15-20min later dr came in. took one look at us and said we should be happy with what children we have. He repeatedly spoke about our weight and HIS DAUGHTERS weight issues. He also talked repeatedly about genetic testing. Including comments about downs and autism. I found this offensive as… I have family members with both. If this Dr. did not want to help us he could have just refered us to another DR or simply said he could not help us. My wife cried for days after this experience. This guy should not be practicing medicine. He didn't even examine my wife. then it continues. We get a bill saying group health denied claim as she was not covered. My wife's insurance is Premera. 4 phone calls and 3 promises of getting it fixed and re providing insurance and 4 months later and its still not fixed. Don't go to this guy. Wish I could rate him a Zero

Dr. Salisbury is an exceptional doctor. I was infertile and when I finally became pregnant I started cramping at 16 wks and was in pre-term labor the remainder of my pregnancy. Dr. Salisbury knew that I might not ever be able to become pregnant again. Every step of the way he did everything possible to save my son. Thanks to Dr. Salisbury my son was born healthy at 37 weeks. Dr. Salisbury is a wonderful doctor with a quality that's hard to find these days. He really, really cares.

Dr. Salisbury cared for me during my pregnancy from 10 weeks on with my twins. I had initially gone to another doctor to get my IUD removed and when I first found out I was pregnant. That Dr. was overly concerned with my age (34) and said I would have to have a bunch of extra tests and ultrasounds because I was getting so old (haha, and he didn't even know it was twins yet!). When I switched to Dr. Salisbury, I asked him if I needed any extra tests because of my age or the twin pregnancy, and he said, "I think I can handle it". He said if we ran into any complications then we may have to have extra ultrasounds, but other than that he was not worried about it.During the entire pregnancy, Dr. Salisbury was calm and confident and very knowledgeable without being the least bit arrogant or cocky. He spent as much time as I needed with me in the room and never seemed to be in a rush to leave the room. I never felt like he was aggravated with my questions. My husband also felt very… confident with Dr. Salisbury and really liked him too. The wait time in the waiting room was frustrating a couple of times, but once I was in the room, it was usually about 2 minutes until the doctor arrived! After a full-term 38 weeks, I ended up having to have a c-section due to a breech baby. I was very anti-c-section, and Dr. Salisbury knew this. He was very understanding of my emotions about the surgery. He did a great job on the surgery itself and was very caring and kind. Overall I give Dr. Salisbury as many stars as I can plus some. He is a great ob/gyn. I trust him completely and never felt uncomfortable around him. I will continue to go to him and refer my friends to him as long as I live here.
