Dr. Robert Neil Schnitzler, MD

Dr. Schnitzler is great and highly recommend. However, be prepared to sit and wait. I've never seen the Dr at my appointment time and have waited up to an hour before. I've also had challenges getting callbacks from medical staff.

I started seeing Dr Schnitzler and his staff after I saw the detailed exam and follow up my husband was shown. They have had some hiccups with their new system; but seems to have worked out most of the issues. I see Christine (NP) most of the time and I love that she spends time with me and digs deeper to ensure I am where I need to be with my numbers. Since COVID a lot of offices have had their issues you just have to learn to be patient.

They cancelled my appointments x3, returned any/all calls and each time advised that I would not be in for this appointment and that I was no longer seeing Schnitzler. Asked Please cancel this and all future appointments. Assured it would be done. A weekend happened and on Monday rcvd a cnxl call and then an individual calls to tell me how much I will owe for a copay the next day for my canceled (x2) appointment. Had to speak with Office Manager(OM) that attempted to give an excuse of a system issue for the problem. This excuse was already used by prior office staff and I was ASSURED that the issue was fixed and that My appointments (current and future) would be cancelled. When I tried to tell the OM this she spoke over me and then hung up on me. Looks like this is what to expect from the office manager. If you have an issue that is their issue/ fault. You will be hung up on.

Review based solely on the staff. Belligerent and rude. It was shock8ng to see this in a Dr office.

I was very pleased with Dr Schnitzler as he came in on my case after being admitted to through the ER. The ER doctor called Dr Schniztler and although I had only seen one of the doctors on his staff over 3 years ago, he took care of me as if I had been a long time patient of his. His visits over a 6 day period would often be at the end of the day, amazingly sometimes in the evening hours. My case is complicated by several diseases and I really appreciate a doctor with such expertise and knowledge, that will listen to you, showing care and compassion.

If prescribed, beware Atorvastatin can cause some cholestasis with damage to bile ducts. Once the side effects set in and not knowing what is going on well it's too late, no one around to help in understanding the effects, no review boards, legal folks, etal generally care in the slightest. After a few months of Atorvastatin excess bile and intense burning problems as bile is very caustic to the skin. The problem may correct itself after a few months when off the drug according to online information otherwise it could be a rest of life time of drinking cholestyramine which helps a lot, tolerable it seems, overall the problem being just a bit nasty. There looks like a history of diabetes with the drug on line with law suits.and online information indicates can cause hemorrhagic stroke, arthralgia, diarrhea, and nasopharyngitis. Other side effects include: urinary tract infection, insomnia, limb pain, muscle spasm, musculoskeletal pain, myalgia, and nausea. Usually there are long… lists of side effects on drugs, but this one the damage can be quite real, don't want to go there. There seems to be a lack of knowledge about what might be going on when the problems arise so your on your own to find out what is going on, gastrologist may have no clue which was noted online also. Some comments online: In addition to increased risk of high blood sugar and Type 2 diabetes, particularly in women, the FDA also cautioned that statins are linked to liver damage, memory loss and potential muscle damage. Some of the duct works of the drug might even be helpful, except for bile duct damage in the liver or pancreas damage, etal not good. Good Luck.

I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment, then waited and waited and waited, finally I was put in an examination room. When I asked about the Doctor I got no answer what so ever. Some one came in took my weight and blood pressure. She said she needed to do an EKG to which I replied “I had that done prior to coming here”. The lady said “but I didn’t do it”. “Please look in the complete file that my Dr has sent you as it includes an EKG done 6 days ago.” Papers were shuffled and then she left me alone. No one ever came in to apologize And Dr Schnitzler never appeared. So after 2 hours I put on my coat and left. No one spoke to me or questioned me. To one office I said “this is too much, I have driven 90 miles to get here, now it is 90 miles home”

Interesting ranges of ratings from 0 to 5 it seems and discussion of age which all are potentially factual. Probably the experiences are all based in fact as with the cadre of doctors for most patients including me the definition of care is strictly cold hearted medicine. tests and more tests, medicines and more medicines, if a patient survives they survive, if a patient is at the end, there may not be any doctors around with actual true caring for options for saving patients and the end is allowed to come on even without the knowledge of the patient who trusted the cadre of doctors. Methodist hospital prides itself as caring for patients to honor God. No hospital is a place to be unless absolutely necessary advances are in progress, but not there yet It would be wise to check out all options, all doctors, all hospitals, other cities around the nation and the world to see if there is a way out with more advanced procedures. As the saying goes your care, your choice. It is too… late when the end comes.

Dr. Schnitzler was my husband''s dr. in 2014. Things did not go well and Bill passed away. But this Dr! As great and as important a dr. as he is, it was as though Dr. Schnitzeler seemed to be almost humbled at the opportunity to take care of the most important man in the world- TO ME. His care of Bill was excellent throughout the whole horrible journey Bill and I were on, and through it all, Dr. Scgnitzler was just as concerned with how I was handling things as he was with Bill''s care. Each thing that happened to Bill, he took time to make sure I understood what had happened and that I was doing OK with it. As things traveled to the end, this Dr. reinforced upon me NOT to give up hope; that he would tell me when it was time to realize it was nearing the end for Bill, and he did. I remember him coming into the room and saying, "This that has just happened, ( I'm not going to elaborate), is not good...it''s almost time to let him go... I will never forget how he made sure I knew it was… time and somehow, that made Bill'''s death a little easier to bear... I will forever be grateful to him for this...

Many patients do not like people to be as straight forward as Dr. Schnitzler. Consequently, they write bad reviews. I like to be told exactly what caused my heart problems and what I should be doing about it. Dr. Schnitzler does not just treat the problem, he makes his patients responsible for their health. Many doctors today spend a lot of time with their patients but do not accomplish as much as this man accomplishes in s short time. My hemotologist referred me to Dr. Schnitzler and told me he is the best and the cardiologist he chooses for himself.
