Dr. Robert L Suiter, PhD

A previous reviewer mentioned that Dr. Suiter collaborates with certain attorneys and exploits families, and I fully believe this to be true. In my case, his bias was clear from our first meeting. I felt from the start that he had a negative opinion of me, without any basis. It took him several months to complete his report, which I chose to challenge due to its blatant bias against me. This prolonged my divorce for years and cost me thousands of dollars, all because of his flawed custody evaluation and poor recommendations for my children. As a result, my children have suffered ongoing mental and emotional abuse due to the situation created by his recommendations. Since then, I’ve met others who also had negative experiences with Dr. Suiter, citing his bias or tendency to side with — or make recommendations to “appease” — the controlling parent. It’s shocking that he’s still allowed to practice, given the damage he’s caused to multiple families. I also learned that Dr. Suiter faced… disciplinary action a few years ago, including restrictions on performing custody evaluations and a requirement to complete coursework in domestic violence assessment. I hope this training covered narcissism, as my ex’s behavior completely escaped his attention. His manipulation of Dr. Suiter was both disappointing and alarming. Dr Suiter (hoping he isn't in practice anymore) has ruined so many families in San Bernardino, I am not sure how he got to be so prominent. After 30 hours of testing and interviews he still didn't understand what was happening. Then thought he would be a King Solomon and have a ruling similar to cutting the baby in half. For years the Courts followed his recommendations like he had written the Divorcing Family Bible. It would be heresy to not follow Dr Suite. Later I had to go back to family court, the ruling he had made things worse, we were directed to the Court's attorney that was assigned to represent the kids. So they had their own attorney assigned by the court. A very good idea for the kids. In 15 mins and only 2 questions for me, (I was the last interviewed by him) he said he was done, he knew what needed to be done. I spent weeks at Dr. Suites and this attorney asked me 2 Qs and was done! I told him I was not happy and this was an important issue for me and my… kids, for their future! He said, it wasn't hard to see I should be getting the kids, their mom was slick, but a case like ours was easy and doesn't take very long to figure out. Weeks with Dr. Suite and got some stupid order, 15 mins with an attorney and the problem got solved. I wind up with custody, but the damage from Dr. Suiter and the years of fighting has damaged my kids. The oldest is 38 now, didn't figure out life issues until he was 30. The others are still working on issues they should not have had to deal with. While it is not be fair to blame all the problems on Dr. Suiter, I can say he did not solve one problem for my kids - only made them worse. If you are in a custody battle, listen to this. The damage that fight will cause to the kids will shape the rest of their lives - and not in a good way! While I thought that would be the case, living it was & is terrible. Unfortunately for me and the kids the old saying, "It takes 2 to fight" is not always the case and did not apply for our family. For us it was "It takes two to get along!" Sadly, one of us did not want to get along and a professional like Dr Suiter should have been able to spot that. Maybe not in 15 minutes, but in 30 minutes, yeah. The attorney was Carroll Lawson in Redlands, unfortunately, Carrol died. He was a police detective that got his law degree to help kids and families. While he was an attorney, I am sure he did a lot of helping, sorry he left us.

He will destroy your family and place your children in harm. He works very closely to extort families with the attorneys he is partnered up with. RUN AWAY FROM THIS ANIMAL. Extremely bias, rude, and unprofessional. He will delay your case for months so as to run up the bill for himself and his attorney friends.

Reception did not return my calls for 3-4 weeks. I was apparently dealing with the office manager who was incredibly rude. She told me my referral expired. It expired two weeks after leaving multiple voicemails which is ridiculous. When i told her ive been struggling to get a hold of ANYONE AT ALL for 4 weeks i let her know if i get a new referral i just need to know itll be handled soon unlike last time. She then said “you dont need to tell me what i need to do you can find somewhere else” & she hungup and will not answer any calls coming from my number. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. VERY UNFAIR. Still trying to figure out a higher ups contact number.
