Dr. Robert Stanley Unsell, MD

I was referred to Dr. Unsell by my primary care physician. I was told I had tennis elbow. He tried 3 injections in my elbow which did not help. He then ordered an MRI. I was told I had a torn tendon and would require surgery. I gave in and decided on surgery after suffering with the pain for over a year. Long story short, it was the worst mistake I've ever made. Do not get this surgery. The doctor does not communicate with his patients. He did not prepare me for the pain associated with this very invasive procedure. It's been 4 months since surgery and I have had my elbow catch and pop on a daily basis. It's way worse than before surgery. I have medial pain which I never had before. Instead of trying to find out what went wrong, the doctor pawned me off on another doctor. Get a second opinion. This doctor does not care about his patients.

I was sent to Dr. Robert Unsell by my primary care physican. I was seen by Dr. Robert Unsell for a problem with my elbow. He then had me return for a second visit. On this visit I was informed that Dr. Robert Unsell doesn't even specialize in Elbows but was a wrist doctor. Knowing he was not a elbow doctor he still had me come back for a follow up visit. It was a complete waste of time and money on my part because he could not do anything for me.

Other than the wait in the office, which frankly sucks everywhere so I can't fault them to much, it's kind of the expected to wait at the hospitta. The doctor was great. I had to have a trigger finger release done an I searched everywhere for a reputable Dr. I was told by more than a few people that Dr Unsell was the one to go to. He explained the procedure and answered all my questions. The surgery was quick, yeah I hurt but duh .... What'd you expect when you just got cut. I made a full recovery and couldn't be happier with my choice. Heres a few suggestions. Plan on waiting its just the way it is. Second, write your questions down, if you forget to ask it isn't the doctors fault. And last plan on some pain, progress hurts sometimes.

I have had several hand surgeries in the last 15 years. Unfortunately, my hand surgeon retired, so I was left to find a new one. I read the reviews for Dr. Unsell, which were all good, so I scheduled an appt. to have a trigger finger repaired. I waited 2 hours and 45 minutes to see him the first time in his Edmond office. There was 3 people that had the same appt time as me, and had been waiting just as long! The office staff was very apologetic and assured me that this "never" happens. They also told me that his office on the southside of OKC was not as busy and it would be best to book future appts there if possible. I wish I had listened to my gut and tried to find a different doctor, but I went ahead and scheduled and had the surgery. I've had 6 other trigger finger surgeries and NEVER had this much trouble. I had 100% recovery with all. When I told Dr. Unsell I was not happy with the results, he acted like it was my fault and was uncaring and rude. I've seen him 3 times… at the south office, and have waited over an hour each time. The office staff is VERY unfriendly there. I will most likely have to have this finger done again and will NOT ever go back to either office.

Do not make any plans the day of your app,you would not make it. Staff is okay because their making up for the FOREVER wait. Dr. is nice seems to know his stuff but you will only see him twice! When he tells you that you need surgery and then at the surgery after that its a PA. The surgery itself was okay just as he said it would be. That's my experience I hope it helpfull.

I don't know who you think you are or what you think you're doing, but you do Not treat your patients with the kind of disrespect that I endured.Not only did I wait VERY PATIENTLY for AN ENTIRE HOUR, but I was still kept my mouth shut after your pathetic excuse for a receptionist was a complete jerk to me.I told her my i had been waiting for an hour and she told me that there were still five patients ahead of me. I asked her how this could happen and after she rolled her eyes at me, she told me point blank that there were a lot of patients today.Where do you get off scheduling more patients than you KNOW you can see!!?? I've already waited AN HOUR after my appointment time and there are STILL FIVE PATIENTS ahead of me? You wasted my afternoon that I had to take off from work for. And to top that off, I waited three weeks for this pointless appointment. You're pathetic and should be ashamed to call yourself a physician. You allow your business to be run like a sleazebag… telemarketing center. All you care about is how many people you can squeeze in and out each day so you can keep billing as many people as possible.How dare you!

I completely severed the extending tendon on top of my left long finger. Dr. Unsell examined my hand a full week before the original doctor to whom I was referred wanted to see me. Although his surgery schedule was completely full for the following day, he scheduled me to come in at 5 am in order to get me in quickly. The surgery was extremely fast and I think my hand will recover completely. To those who feel it is important, he offered to pray with me before the surgery. I knew I was in good hands with him. I highly recommend him.

I am Registered Nurse and we nurses know the scoop. Dr. Unsell is the best of the best!! I highly recommend him to anyone.
