Dr. Robin Marie Rathe, MD

She was not at all interested in discussing my concerns and questions about a test result that came back as possible cancer. I was left to seek several other opinions while I was left terrified thinking I had cancer. I was shocked at this treatment and would not recommend this dr.

I went to see Dr. Rathe to establish care as a first time and she was the absolute worst/utter trash! 1. I’m a physician and typically don’t reveal that to see if the care I’ll receive is up to par. She walked in , didn’t acknowledge my name nor my husband in the room and had questionable bed side manners 2. She proceeded to forcefully put the vaginal probe in to locate the gestational sac etc … with no explanation of the process. 3. She talked to us about seeing the baby on the ultrasound machine when it wasn’t faced towards us, and when we asked she insisted to look at the wall, with a screen that was and not connected to the machine and completely black 4. She then said I can’t see the heart of the baby, maybe it’s a miscarriage. When I went to an ultrasound spot less than 2 days ago ( with a transabdominal probe and the heart was there. ) 5. She said come back in a week and rushed out of the room. Spend all of 4-5 minutes with us, my husband not understanding anything that… happened (as he is not in medicine) Not only will I never see her again, i hope no one else wastes their time either. I hope she sees this and revisits her bedside manners and perhaps convey some compassion to patients who are first time parents. Spending 20 seconds introducing yourself to everyone in the room and explaining what we’re about to do goes a long way.

Went in to get my annual wellness exam and consult about an IUD. She is so energetic and welcoming and answered all my questions. We decided to move forward with an IUD for me, and I was super nervous, but she talked me through the entire process, and did the whole thing fairly quickly. She is exactly what I want in a doctor, especially for this particular specialty.

Went in to get my annual and check out an issue I had been experiencing. I had tried to make an appointment with my OB/GYN that I had been seeing before and was unable to. Found Dr. Rathe on the myOchsner app and was happy to see there was a female doctor in the area (I had been driving to Slidell previously and Metairie before that and had some issues with a previous doctor during a pregnancy so I've been looking for a good fit anyway). Was seen fast and the appointment was quick. After looking at my history while going over my current issue, she mentioned concern about a past issue and that she would also make sure that the issue was still of no concern for me. She seems very compassionate and knowledgeable. Will definitely be seeing her from now on.
