Dr Rockford G Yapp, MD, MPH

My husband was to have a colonoscopy with Dr. Yapp this morning. Even though my husband had followed the bowel prep instructions to a tee, he was still having liquid brown stools this morning. So we called the answering service because we wanted to speak to Dr Yapp about this situation. (Why waste anyone's time if not prepped enough?!) Dr Yapp did call back and was openly irritated that we had bothered him but said that we would move forward with the scope anyway and see what happens. As such we continued onto the endo lab. When the doctor showed up to my husbands room prior to the procedure he spent less than 15 seconds with us, kept his back to us the entire time he was in the room and washed his hands. With his back still turned to us, he grunted that we would still do the scope and see how it turns out and poof he left the room. So it turned out that everything was fine and my husband had indeed prepped enough. Dr. Yapp came into the room after the procedure and actually grinned … and said that everything was good. Once we were back home, I asked my husband how the doctor had been to him once in the surgical suite, and evidently it was the same thing were the doctor kept his back to him and never spoke to him. This type of behavior by a physician is completely unacceptable. The only reason that I am giving him one star is that he showed up for the procedure.

Fabulous doctor! Very knowledgeable and lots of fun, in addition to his medical expertise. I have a tough condition to deal with, and I am glad he is my gastro go-to. Takes forever to get an appointment, and there is often a long wait in his office, but he is very much in demand.

Dr. Yapp has gone above and beyond for me. He is a kind, compassionate and brilliant Doctor. He's one of a kind.

My husband and I are patients of Dr. Yapp. Many years ago he could a cancerous polyp in my husband's colon. He removed it and has monitored my husband all those years ago. He is very professional but at the same time compassionate. He is well respected by doctors and nurses at GSH. Whenever we are asked for a recommendation for a gastro doc, we always say "Dr. Yapp"!

Dr. Yapp is awesome. Takes time and consideration with you.

I have been going to Dr Yapp for 14 years. He is Top Notch At Diagnosing Problems even BEFORE you have Testing Done. Dr Yapp Has A Great Bedside Manner and Is easy to talk with. He gets aggravated at my Colon Issues as I Am Nowhere near a "Textbook Case"...... & Hyper Sensitive To Many Things.....He is often LATE arriving at his Offices!!! This is NO SECRET..... And sometimes has to rush through Appts to get caught up which isn't a good thing at times. Most of his office staff have been with him for many years. Dr Yapp has a wide variety of Knowledge in Many Areas of Digestive Challenges!! Just be prepared for sitting a bit if get an Appt!!!!

Dr Yapp is the greatest doctor that i have ever had he treats me like a member of his own family. I do not mind waiting because he is so knowlegeable and just over all great Doctor. The best part about Dr Yapp is that Good Sam randomly assigned him to me while in the ER and from that moment he has taken full control in finding out how to make me well. It is an honor to be one of his patients.
