Dr. Roderick David Ekmark, MD

Dr Ekmark started out as an amazing doctor for our area, but as he got busier his care and bedside manner has gone downhill drastically. My entire family used to be patients and due to poor diagnosis and bedside manner that has sometimes mimicked that of a child gradually my daughter, husband, and myself have all stopped using him. My autustic son, who liked dr ekmark, is his only one left. And after the encounter today with Nikki at the front desk today who knows. My son knew he needed to do a urine test and politely explained to Nikki he needed a cup NOW....because he needed to go and couldnt hold it. 10 minutes later when i came in feom the car he was still waiting for the cup. I went to the desk and explained my son was on medications that made it difficult for him to hold his urine and he would need a cup NOW or he wouldnt be able to do the urine test. 3 times she said hed have to wait. He said he could not hold it any longer. Nikki made a very big, loud scene in front of the… other patients in the waiting room about how he only needed to wait another minute. I again explained on the meds my son was on, he could not hold it. Nikki continued to argue loudly from the front desk while i was sitting accross the waiting room. This was not only demeaning and embarrassing, but also violated hippa guidelines as it was no one elses business in the waiting room as to the fact my son needed a urine test to continue to get meds or why his medical condition wouldnt allow for him to wait any longer. I dont think ive ever been treated as poorly as my son or i were today in any capacity when seeking medical care. Dr Eckmark really needs to work on professionality, bedside manner, and following hippa guidelines from everyone in his. Office as i am so disappointed in todays visit i may be filing a complaint with the hospital later today.

Very personable Proffessional

Dr Ekmark is a fabulous physician. He treats my whole family. Wonderful with children and eases their anxiety about being at the doctor and makes their appointment fun! As a nurse, I naturally take on a more critical view in healthcare, however I know I can trust Dr. Ekmark with all my family’s healthcare needs. Highly recommend.

This "doctor" treated me so badly, simply because I offered some advice that a specialist had given me, that I was shocked. After this happened, I did some online research and found that he had lost his license in medical school as well as the ability to practice at VA hospitals in and capacity, due to more bad judgement and/or emotional instability. These are my opinions, make your own decisions, but please...DO YOUR RESEARCH.

Dr. Ekmark did not pay me to write this review. I receive no free gifts or 10 percent off coupon to my next visit. My first meeting with Dr. Ekmark was a pleasant experience. He is thorough, respects your privacy, bright, and has a good sense of humor. He is willing to listen and suggest alternatives to prescriptions. But, he respects your wishes.

Dr. Ekmark is our family doctor. He is professional, respectful, helpful, and compassionate.

Went in with severe anxiety issues, over a very stressful situation, this doc tries to peddle me mammograms and colonoscopies :-( prescribed 3 meds that were totally wrong for me, and was unwilling to prescribe a legal pharmaceutical, that had worked for me in the past. The man has zero personality, and zero bedside manner. If you are depressed or have anxiety issues, don't go to this guy, you'll walk out feeling worse than when you went in. I also suggest you google his name, he has a rather 'interesting' history that might also give you pause before seeing him. I wish I would have gone with my gut, and not wasted my time with this guy.

Dr. Ekmark is wonderful! I switched to him from my military provider because I like the continuity of care.
