Dr. Hess is a doctor who cares for you and your outcome! He has a great bedside manner.

Quick to order tests, which is great. Spends zero time explaining results and quick to diminish current PT that isnt in his building. Literally said I shouldnt be doing "old lady water aerobics" that are helping. Was quick to demand I start pt at his place and expected me there everyday. He didnt bother to ask if I could afford the $40 every day or to ask if I could travel the hour and a half drive each way. The staff is amazing and seemed equally annoyed at his behavior. Very dismissive of pain and issues caused by it. Reminds me of the jocks in high school who look down on everyone who isnt them.

Absolutely no bedside manner. Very dismissive and becomes very impatient and annoyed. I was referred to him for chronic shoulder pain after an injury and he lied and said all imaging was normal when I was told and had read the reports that it was not. Then told me to go see a counselor because my pain was psychological. Received a second opinion from a new surgeon months later who diagnosed my chronic shoulder dislocation from the same injuring Dr. Hess had seen. Had surgery a month later and almost all shoulder pain had resolved. My new doctor has made it very clear that the residual muscle pain and atrophy are from his failure to diagnose and dismissive behavior.

Dr. Hess has fixed my knees and currently my left shoulder. Always does a great job at surgery and explains everything to you and his bedside manner is always professional. Make me at ease! Highly Recommend Dr. Hess and Wellington Orthopaedics.

Amazing. He fixed a big problem from another surgery I had been having for 10 months. When the surgeon who did the original surgery kept telling me I was fine, Dr. Hess took the time to evaluate the problem. He scoped the knee and cleaned out a mess. I am only on day 4, and already feel like a new person. I wish I would have known about him sooner. I will never go to anyone else but him. Plus, he called me on the weekend to see how I was doing. That is a doctor who cares.
