Dr. Ronald Paul Kaufman JR., MD

I have seen Dr. Kaufman a number of times. I am a certified rehabilitation specialist and am a strong advocate for my own health care. I find Dr. Kaufman to be incredibly kind, respectful and knowledgeable. I never feel rushed. He takes time to answer my questions. Recently, I was very nervous about an upcoming procedure. Rather than dismiss my concerns, Dr. Kaufman scheduled another appt before the procedure so we could discuss my concerns, He came up with an alternative option which would be less stressful for me. He is always very thorough when it comes to medical history evaluation and following up on your current health status.. His dedication to his profession and his patients is very apparent. I feel lucky to have his as my physician.

Dr. Kaufman is your stereotypically arrogant doctor. He was dismissive and patronizing and I got the impression he gave my records and test results only a cursory glance as he seemed ignorant of important details. I left his office highly discouraged. I am so glad I had an appointment with another doctor and ended up going with them.

Dr Kaufman understood my concerns, called up my records and went over them all with me. He answered questions completely. I felt comfortable with him.

Dr. Kaufman performed prostate surgery on me three years ago. The procedure was not done correctly as per my new urologist, who stated it looks "like an intern did it". subsequent to the surgery Dr. Kaufman misdiagnosed and minimized my ongoing symptoms , stringing me along until the statute of limitations for a malpractice suit had expired. The final straw was when he recommended "prostate massage", a quasi holistic treatment not medically sanctioned for any condition. When I questioned this recommendation I was told that "if you don't like it you can leave". Fortunately I did leave and had the identical past surgery redone by my current urologist. I am now completely symptom free.

This was one of the worst experiences in my life.

I don't think any other doctor would or could have tried any harder than he did. He bought us time, and we are very greatful to him for that.
