Dr. Roy Dana Elterman

Was with him for 10 years then moved. By far the best doctor I have ever had care for me. I'm saddened by his retirement. He deserves numerous awards for his caring ways, along with brilliance in the field.

I have a severly handicapped son who had seizures since age of 2. Perodically he would have uncontrollable seizures for hours. He has a rare metabolic disease. After seeing pediatric neurologists at Oklahoma Children's Memorial Hospital and Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, there was no definite diagnosis of his seizures (why he had them) or how to better control them without so many drugs that he was essentially in a coma.After my first trip to Dr, Elterman; he put a name to my son's problem: Lennox Gasteau Syndrome common with children with underlying metabolic problems, or other diseases which affect the brain.Within 2 months, he had changed my son's medication (in a safe hospital setting), taught me what signs and symptoms to watch for,and restored my faith that SOME doctors do care. My son gained 3 years of development within 9 months of his changes (documented on his IEP in his school). His foolow up was wonderful. A couple of times my son still had seizure storms, and Dr.… Elterman was immediately available, and ealt with the problem. It took a couple of times to get things just right, but my son hasn't had a seizure in over 3 years and he continues to improve developmentally, I believe Dr. Elterman saved my son's life and his future.

Overall, excellent doctor!!!

If you are looking for a caring physician, then, this is not the doctor. Once you have been seen a few times, you become a number...It becomes difficult to receive an appointment , and, the staff, especially Dr Elterman frowns upon complaints...If you complain, please have another physician on stand'by.Unhappy
