Dr. Ruchira Densert, MD

I came to Dr.Densert two years ago for chronic depression, resistant to many therapies and medications. Dr. Densert was able to find a good regimen of anti-depressant, mood stabilizer and even an anti-psychotic which I didn't know could be used for depression. My mood is stable where I don't need to be seen every month anymore. I appreciate her calmness and compassion!

My session with Dr. Densert made me feel like I am too dark of a person to handle or hold space for. I feel ostracized as a mental health patient. I was told she was not comfortable working with me as a client. We really must solve this issue together in the mental health community. The issue being that there are people who have professions in the mental health field that claim to have 20 years in clinical experience and yet they cannot hold space or treat cases like mine. It should also be said that the mandatory requirements to continue working with her were not made crystal clear with me from the beginning.

I decided to see a psychiatrist just before starting college. I saw Dr. Densert for 9 months and during that time I was being overprescribed and so poorly monitored that I ended up getting disqualified from my college. It has been a year now and my depression has become even more severe and I am no longer going to school. I even asked her for a note to help prevent me from getting kicked out of school, and she simply refused and insisted it was my fault for not deciding to change or stop the medication. She never seemed like she cared about her patient, and was incredibly quick to throw out diagnoses and write a prescription. Absolutely do not recommend.
