Dr. Newman is very thorough with his eye exams. He and the staff explained everything in detail.

Dr Newman’s downtown Columbia office is convenient to my work and has a adjacent parking lot. He has a location in Lexington and Northeast Columbia also. I am a first time patient in my 50’s and I was pleased with the eye exam, and felt that Dr Newman answered my questions, as well as, giving me a plan to address the dryness in my eyes. Very pleasant experience.

Pleasant office environment, three convenient locations- downtown, Lexington and Northeast Columbia. I travel with my job so I like that I can see Dr Newman at a location close to where I am working. I asked my internist and cardiologist who to see for my eyes and both recommended Dr Newman. My first visit went very well and I was extremely impressed with Dr Newman. He is friendly, and quite bright. I am glad to find Dr Newman and get in as one of his patients.

Very efficient office and was impressed with Dr Newman. All my questions were answered and my needs were addressed. I will be back!

Dr. Newman answered all my questions about my eyes, and explained in detail my options to see even better. After following his advice, I can definitely say that my vision has improved dramatically. I would refer my family and friends to Dr. Newman because in addition to having a easy bedside manner he is extremely well trained and double board certified. My internist said that Dr. Newman is who he and his Doctor friends see for their eyes. Nuff Said....

Dr Newman recently treated me for a Corneal Abrasion. He explained treatment and the time frame for my eye to heal. He was very detailed in his explanation and took the time to set my mind at ease. Very professional and friendly!

The. Columbia Eye Clinic is a state of the art comprehensive eye care facility. I researched ophthalmologists extensively before making this appointment because I have a myriad of health issues and wanted the most well trained physician that I could find. Dr. Newman came highly recommended from several other physicians that I consulted. Dr. Newman is a board certified Ophthalmologist and a board certified Neurologist. I was told that with his training I would be hard pressed to find a more experienced clinician/surgeon. I was not disappointed after meeting Dr. Newman and his staff. I feel confident that I have found a doctor that I can "grow old with", and that will be well equipped to guide me through decisions involving my healthcare. Excellent experience with a friendly ( but mor importantly) a highly intelligent and seasoned physician!!

The staff is professional, the building and equipment looks state of the art! My wait time was minimal and I felt like Dr Newman spent the time to answer all my questions. I have noticed some vision changes and wanted to have an extensive eye exam. After a thorough eye exam, Dr Newman, told me that it was time for glasses. I was very impressed with the whole experience and ended up getting my glasses and sunglasses in the Columbia Eye Clinic optical shop. I highly recommend Dr. Newman!!

I knew that I had a small freckle in the back of my eye, and I kept up with my annual ophthalmologist appointments. I moved to Columbia and I was referred to Dr Newman. I was pleased with Dr. Newmans friendly bedside manner and the detailed exam that I received. Dr. Newman spent a lot of time with me and told me that he was concerned about the freckle and wanted to do more tests. It turns out that the freckle was actually a melanoma (CANCER). I went through radiation, etc. The oncologist told me that the cancer I had spread quickly and was hard to diagnose. he also said that it spreads from the eye to the bones and that I would have been dead within two years. I feel very lucky that I went to someone with the specialized training to recognize that it was not a freckle, and ultimately get me the care that got rid of the cancer!!!!!!
