Dr. Russell Stanford Brummett, MD

Dr. Brummett has been treating me for various spine issues for the past six years, from accumulative wear and tear/arthritis issues in my lower back to a serious spine injury to my mid-back in the spring of 2021. Throughout, he has been an exceptionally caring doctor and technically gifted surgeon. His patience, ability to diagnosis and treat a condition, and follow-up care are all exceptional. I would recommend him without hesitation. I'm very grateful for his care.

My appt was with Dr Brummett but I saw a PA named Alan. Because it was my neck and shoulder I guess he sent someone else

What a fast and amazing appointment got there checked in didn’t have to wait long and then went in got checked out and then was maybe only in there for maybe ten minutes but so friendly and upbeat attitude and just made the appointment so fun ??

Don't waste your time because I felt like I was certainly wasting his. Horrible bedside manner. Arrogant,to say the least. Do not expect any information"outside of his wheelhouse". "You are not going to be paralyzed, that's all I can tell you". My PCP actually referred me to the correct doctors where he should of done this on the 1st appt. Complete waste of time, only views you from a surgeon's perspective.

Dr. Brummett gave me 4 minutes of his time. During those 4 minutes he made me feel as if I was wasting his time. He did not even listen nor did he care about what my issue is. Never once asked me. He doesn't 'believe' piriformis is a real thing. When I asked what he thought was causing my pain... his response..."I have NO idea. He clearly did not read my chart or the reason I was there to see him. I did not ask for an MRI. His PA ordered it back at my first visit to the facility. I came in with 3 very clear issues and his PA told me that an MRI could help figure them out. Brummett saw no pinched nerve so completely brushed me off. He referred me to someone else within the practice as he was escorting me out the door. I have NEVER been treated like that before in a Doctors office. I was still discussing my numb foot while out in the middle of the reception area with him as he was walking away from me. His response...'well - maybe you need to see a Neurosurgeon. I can set… that up for you also'. Please don't do me any favors Dr. Brummett. Unfortunately I have horrible insurance which requires me to choose this facility. Otherwise - I would NEVER go back there.

Dr. Brummett reviewed my x-rays and MRI, accurately diagnosed my condition, listened intently to what I said, and based on my explanation of my current lifestyle, advised me as to how to handle any future progression of my spinal issues. He suggested that no medical intervention was necessary at this time. This is in stark contrast to what other medical “professionals” have told me based on the same test results. As obvious as this may sound, I have found that a significant majority of health care workers- both doctors and nurses- will review a patient’s symptoms and diagnose/suggest treatment based on profiling standards recommended by the AMA, with little regard for a patient’s individuality. I find Dr. Brummett’s logical and personalized approach refreshing and greatly appreciated.

Any visit with Dr. Brummett is the best. He puts you at ease, explains things clearly, gets to the point of things easily. Always a pleasure.

I have degenerative arthritis so this was the second time I needed Dr Brummett’s expertise. I was in awe! The staff had me walking shortly after surgery. The excruciating pain I had before surgery was completely gone and stayed gone. On top of that, he was kind and took the time with me that I needed. Answered all my questions and made me feel at ease. Thank you, Dr Brummett!, for giving me back my life, again!

Very abrupt, too much in a hurry, did not understand most of what I was saying, acted like I was wasting his time, never addressed some of the issues I have, offered a medical treatment thru someone else that is probably not going to help the actual problem much

I have seen Dr. Brummett twice, and he has been among the most sincere and helpful physicians I have ever encountered. He reviewed and explained my condition thoroughly, and been very honest as to what the best course of treatment would be. He is friendly, approachable, knowledgeable and professional, and can be relied on to have the patients best interests at heart. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Brummett to anyone needing orthopedic treatment.
