Dr. Ruth Sylvia Garfield

Dr. Garfield saved my life six years ago. She spent countless hours with me and diagnosed my issues promptly and lead me on a path of happiness and mental wellness. Without her help, I wouldn't have the social and life skills that I have today. She was the ladder I needed to get out of the hole I had dug for myself. It's been 6 happy years since I have seen her and everyday as I embrace my three wonderful children and live a happy married life. I think back to those days that she helped me to achieve this sort of success, and often talk about her to my friends going through similar difficulties. I would highly recommend her, she is caring, thoughtful, and full of insight.

I have been a patient of Dr. Garfield for over eighteen (18) years and began treatment at the young age of 22. Dr. Garfield is quite different than most psychiatrists as she has a Masters in Social Work and specializes in cognitive behavior therapy, psychotherapy, and many other different treatment modalities. She has an excellent outlook, is very interested in her patients, their well-being, and their satisfaction. I don't think I would have made it this far without her. Her sincere, caring disposition makes it easy to discuss difficult problems and she does not judge, and when possible, she exerts slight interjections of thought-provoking questions that makes you think about what action or behavior that is causing difficulty in a light that you may never of thought of. She is truly the best psychiatrist I have ever had and I miss her terribly as I will never find a replacement quite like her.
