He diagnosed me with glaucoma and cataracts and suggested surgery which I had a hard time believing so I got a second opinion. McKinnon was wrong.

Just had a cyst removed and I know it wasn't a major thing but now have a black eye from where I was given my shots. I don't bruise easily. I had researched the procedure before hand and none of it went as I was expecting. He refused to cover my eye and I would have left the office with blood all over my face if I hadn't looked in a mirror before I left. Very unprofessional. His reasoning "this is how I roll". Not cool.

I see a specialist every year due to my diabetes. Everything has been as expected with each visit here. No problems, normal wait times, good care, nice manner, tests seem thorough. I'm satisfied and happy with the service.

I have been a patient of Dr. McKinnon's for at least 14 years. I have always found him to be caring and friendly as well as accurate in his diagnoses. He has always given me the time needed for a thorough exam and made sure that I understood the treatment options available. He has always listened to me about any concerns I might have and he has tailored my treatment accordingly whenever possible. I would highly recommend Dr. McKinnon to any of my friends and family.

I and my wire have both been to Dr. McKinnon. He performed cataract surgery on both of us and the surgeries and results were better than we expected. His 'follow-up' after surgery was prompt and seemed very complete. His 'bedside' concern of his patient was extremely caring and showed great concern. I went to another Dr. who confirmed his diagnosis. Ii totally support Dr. Mckinnon and even suggested my mother-in-law see him for her vision care. She also continues to see him and feels she received superior care from him and his staff.

My opinion of Dr. McKinnon is quite low after being treated by him for two years, given wrong diagnosis and conflicting information more than once. He doesn't seem present or focused during the exams and gives pat answers. I'm glad I went to another doctor for a second opinion and have now switched doctors. If you have been told you have cataracts, glaucoma or retinal problems, I'd suggest you get a second opinion. You might be pleasantly surprised you don't have such problems afterall.
