Dr. Ryan Alan Valicek, MD

After going to Dr Valicek for over 10 years and both of us moving farther away, today arriving after an 1 1/2 drive one way, I was 5 minutes past his 15 minute policy, he refused to see me which generally I would understand, however the waiting room was empty, I was there 15 minutes waiting on bloodwork and to get all my paperwork to change doctors and when I left the waiting room was still empty! To uphold a policy for people who are always late or live in the area and are late or even a newer patient, but a 10+ yr patient that is willing to drive 3+ hours in total to see you and to be 5 minutes late with no patients backed up, in my book this is VERY poor doctor relationship!

He has been treating me for eight years. He's a great guy and physician. I would never think of leaving his practice.

For years I have been shuffled from Dr to Dr because no one could "find anything wrong with me" Dr Valicek in one visit put me at ease that I was not losing my mind and the pain I was experiencing was not in my head. He made my family realize that what I am experiencing is very real. I haven't even had my first follow up with his office and his staff has already notified me of my lab results and that they have answers! I highly recommend this physician to anyone that is living with chronic pain but has not been given a diagnosis.

I have been Dr. Valicek patient for couple of years. I like him. He is good as a doctor and in addition to that he has a good personality, never hurrys up and talks to you. He is a little straight forward for an American but I see it as a plus. He spends enough time with a patient and answers questions. I know many doctors who do not like answer question. I felt very comfortable with him.

My mom has been seeing him for several years. I started taking her about 2 years ago to see him. He always listen's to what my mothers has to say, before giving her any new medication he researches it to make sure it does not effect any of her other medical issues. My mother and I like him and this is why we travel over an hour one way to her appointments. We like his new office and staff.

Likes to argue, does not provide answers to questions when asked. Patients are not allowed to finish their sentence before he cuts in and try's to finish it for the patient. Very poor listener, asked the dr to look at my feet today and he forgot I even asked him. I think that he should consider another line of work as this is not a good match to the combative approach of communication. Avoid this dr if you desire a partnership with your physician.

Dr Valicek is one of the best docs I've seen. He knows his stuff, and can quote stats with the books closed. If you are unsure of which treatment you wish, he will consult with you on the pros and cons of each choice, but let you make the final decision. His bedside manner is top-notch and is as good as only one other doc I've had the pleasure to meet. If you need a rheumatologist, he is the doc you should see.

Dismissive, doesn't listen, abrupt, rushed, interrupts, preconceptions cloud judgement.
