Dr. Sagar Rajendrakum Shah, MD

Visited Dr. Shah. Both he and his medical assistant (wish I knew her name - blonde hair, believe it is Jasmine) aren't overly friendly and somewhat "rough around the edges." Neither say hello to you and neither introduce themselves to you. In an office that already causes one to be a bit nervous, a bit of kindness, a hello, and an introduction goes a long way. There is zero education on procedures ordered and what will happen/not happen. Dr. Shah walks into the exam room staring at this computer, sits down and starts firing off questions. Then tells you to undress for an exam. You're then scheduled for a procedure. Im sure he's a good doctor, but the entire atmosphere is pretty blah, no smiles and no one seems to be happy to be there and patients seem to be a giant inconvenience. The MA doesnt help to ease any tension either...she seems just as miserable as Dr. Shah. Shannon, the scheduler, is the bright light in the practice. She is kind, respectful, and patient centered. She wants… what is best for patients and will do anything to help put you at ease. I've opted to move onto a different practice where I have received excellent care, a physician who introduced himself, listened, cared, and an entirely different office atmosphere eager and happy to care for their patients. Nevertheless, proceed with caution or just know, there's no warm and fuzzy patient care, no patient education, and you are literally going to be an inconvenience upon go...

Dr. Shah was very nice. Exained things well. Staff was very nice. My only complaint- the wait to see the doctor was about an hour. But, the nurse checked with me periodically.

Very unprofessional. Seemed unhappy to be there, didn't introduce himself nor apologize for keeping me waiting. The pelvic exam was horrible, I still had pain the following day. Cold stirrups. Overall very inconsiderate & arrogant.

This doctor does not respond, he has a horrible attitude, he doesn't know what to do, heartless and uncaring. Please, find someone else so you don't waste your time or money.

Seemed to be a theme in the office that no one smiles or talks to you like a person with value. It culminated when Dr Shah entered the room with a computer in his hand, not looking at me at all. After he asked his questions it was time for the exam. He left the room for me to get ready (undressed). He came back in the room with the nurse, both laughing and talking to each other and ignoring my presence. He motioned for me to scoot down on the table and proceeded to poke and prod without speaking a word to me about what he was doing. He was not gentle. How degrading. I had brought pictures from a cystoscopy done 12 years ago when I was diagnosed with interstitial cystitis. He told me that most people who have been told they have IC really don’t. He did not treat me for IC. Said my problems might be related to pelvic floor. He says go to physical therapy, and if that doesn’t help he will do bladder tests later. What?! Why not do bladder tests now, since I have increased problems… with bladder for last 12 years. Anyway, I don’t see Dr Shah in my future. He might be good to some people, but that was not my experience.

No bedside manner. Very abrupt

I've been diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis by multiple doctors. My OBGYN referred me to McIver to discuss botox treatment for my IC. Dr. Shah proceeded to tell me IC is not a "real" diagnosis and if it was, I didn't have it. He clearly didn't listen to my symptoms or read any of my records. I've had over 3 cystoscopies and 10 pelvic exams in my life and never had pain afterwards. After a cystoscopy and pelvic in his office I'm having the worst IC flare of my life, with debilitating burning, stinging pain. Will not be returning for follow up.

I has suffered from urinary incontinence for years. My husband insisted that I go see a urologist. His doctor recommended Dr. SHAW. That was one of the best recommendations that I ever received. I went into the surgery with low expectations. Was I pleasantly surprised! The surgery went very well and very little discomfortment. My surgery was 100 percent successful. Dr. SHAW HAS CHANGED MY LIFE!! I highly recommend Dr. SHAW!
