Dr. Saidi Clemente

Saidi Clemente, M.D. is Director of the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics at Staten Island University Hospital - Northwell Health and is Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Hofstra-Northwell School of Medicine. Prior to her arrival at SIUH, she served as Medical Director of the Komansky Children's Hospital - Weill Cornell Early Intervention Program and as a specialist in Child Development at the Children's Hospital of New Jersey - Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, NJ. After completing fellowship training in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities at the Children's Evaluation and Rehabilitation Center of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, she developed a practice caring for children with a variety of Developmental Disabilities including but not limited to cerebral palsy, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism and Learning Disabilities. In addition to being an expert in the medical aspects of these conditions, Dr. Clementi also emphasizes the …importance of a multidisciplinary approach in their diagnosis and management. With this focus in mind, Dr. Clemente's team includes a second Developmental Pediatrician, two Nurse Practitioners, a Clinical Psychologist and two Medical Assistants. She also works closely with the Pediatric Rehabilitation Team at the hospital as an integral member of the Early Intervention Program referring patients on a regular basis. Autism is very close to Dr. Clemente's heart as she is now raising a daughter with this condition. Due to this personal interest and her vast experience, Dr. Clemente's practice is very well-known in the Staten Island community as a center for the diagnosis and treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorders. Dr. Clemente and her team use state of the art assessment tools and seamlessly integrate with community resources and school programs. The team also runs a large psychotropic medication practice, with expertise in optimizing medication management in developmentally disabled children and adolescents.
