If you have ever broken a bad habit or changed your perspective about something, you have rewired your brain and experienced neuroplasticity. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia and Virginia, a Clinical Supervisor, and a Professor in Counseling. My Ph. D. is in Counselor Education and Supervision with an additional specialty in trauma work. As a relationship-driven and person-centered therapist, I have extensive experience using cognitive behavior, EMDR, Gestalt, and neuroscience-based approaches in working with a diverse population on adverse childhood experience (ACE), anxiety, cross-cultural issues (belongingness), depression, disordered eating, domestic violence, generational issues, grief and loss, stress management, substance use/abuse, and trauma. Prior to private practice, I worked as a community-based and addiction counselor. I am also meaningfully involved in mentoring and training mental health counselors.
