Dr Hanna has been able to help be become headache free. She is thorough in taking a history and is an excellent listener. She really wants to know what has been going on, so that she can make an accurate diagnosis. Since my case was well developed and difficult to treat because of my having secondary pain issues, she was proactive in providing pain relief that didn't cause rebound headaches the way opioids do. Because I had a difficulty develop with the first medication she used to treat me it took longer than it usually does for me to become pain free. But Dr Hanna was very clear about the prognosis and encouraging. Subsequent medication solved the problem with no difficulties. May I also say that Dr Hanna takes a real interest in each of her patients. She is dedicated to solving headache problems and knows what she is doing! She does not hesitate to contact other physicians that you are working with so that there can be continuity of care. I highly recommend Dr Hanna to… anyone who is determined to get rid of chronic headaches. Dr Hanna is as determined as you are.

I am happy to report that working with Dr Hanna has been incredibly effective. Because she took a detailed headache history from me in the first session she was able to prescribe an effective combination of medications and dietary modifications that have worked. Additionally, she has helped me wean myself from chronic ibuprofen overuse with ease. In addition to headaches I have been having muscle pain for a few years. The treatment from Dr Hanna has helped for the muscle pain as well. I wish I had gone to see her a few years ago when I first found her online. Although I have been paying out of pocket, since my out-of-network deductible is quite high, it has been worth every penny. In the long run I will come out ahead financially because I won't have to pay for expensive triptan drugs and will not have to miss work due to headache. I am grateful to have my life back again!

Dr. Hanna is the first doctor who has been able to help me be migraine free about 95% of the time. I have seen a lot of doctors about my migraines. She spent a lot of time reviewing my lifestyle characteristics to identify the cause of my migraines - and therefore, to be able to address the problem. She is the best.

I have suffered for many years with migraines. I had trouble working, doing anything as my migraines were crippling. Only after finding and taking the advice of Dr. Hanna am I now able to lead a normal life.

Dr. Hanna has given me so much help in getting relief from frequent migraines. I so appreciate her expertise and willingness to go way beyond any other doctor I have consulted. I am relieved to be better. This is the first doctor I have seen (and I have seen many) who has been so effective at helping me get relief from my migraines.

I saw Dr Hanna over a few months desperate to get answers for my daily migraines. I found her demeanor to be a bit odd for my taste but was willing to try anything to be headache free. (I have to agree with the other reviewer she is very redundant) Over the visit she wanted me to stop all my pain medication and gave me a very strict diet to follow. She said she would give me meds to help me cope with the pain while we transitioned during that time. The following visits, if I happened to slip up on my food diary and eat one wrong food, like a bean for lunch (this lead to a 15 minute lecture), or God forbid, something with natural flavor (go ahead and look in your pantry - I bet 95% of your food has this ingredient) she would have me in literal tears. My pain during the time I was under her care only got worse, because now, I was now completely unable to use my migraine prevention medications, and was left with nothing to help my horrible pain. I explained to her that the med she gave to… help in the meantime wasn't preventing anything and she said "you just have to be patient". At my last visit, I asked for advice on how to manage the increasing pain along with managing a busy family and her only advice was that she would "pray for me". It was my last visit. I suggest before shelling out a $1000 like I did, read your headache the 1 2 3 program by David Buchholz. The advice is similar and you can at least see if it is something your lifestyle can support before committing to the thousands you will pay with Dr Hanna. The way the minions that praise her jump on the negative reviews also make me suspect if they are the ones working her office. The terminology sounds unsuspectingly familiar.... Good luck if you are reading this. I wish I knew more what I was getting into before I walked into her door.

Wow, saw the prior "ranting" review. Apparently, that individual had completely unrealistic expectations and no desire to really become well. I can assure you, I have been to Dr. Jack Klapper, neurologist; CU's group of endocrinologists; and other doctors over the past 30+ years seeking Migraine relief. None of them were able to impact the frequency, duration, or level of pain I experienced with my migraines with any consistancy. Unfortunately, in most cases, the treatments they tried only made them worse. I recommend Dr. Hanna with complete confidence. Dr. Hanna's approach is entirely different from the others. She actually partners with you to treat and conquer your migraines. When Dr. Hanna suggested,apologetically, that it would take her 4 months to get rid of my migraines, if we worked closely together - I told her, I would be elated if she could get it done in 1 year. She is very methodical. She doesn't just accept the diagnosis of even renowned headache specialists,… because if they had cured you - why would you still be seeking out help? Dr. Hanna works you through the process of moving from a previously prescribed protocol to a new one, based on her diagnosis. She does this with compassion, so as not to leave you vulnerable to insanely painful migraines in that process. If eliminating your migraines altogether is an acceptable outcome for you to invest your time and money with an incredible doctor, then Dr. Hanna is the correct doctor for you. She has dedicated her life to bringing relief to Migraine sufferers - because of her knowledge and experience, she has given me my life back. Thank you Dr. Hanna.

Dr. Salwa Hanna, M.D. helped me when I was about to give up hope. I thought I had tried everything, I felt like I would live the rest of my life with horrible head pain. I started having headaches at a very young age and I was referred from one doctor to another. I saw many neurologists and I went to other doctors that called themselves headache specialists, none of them ever took the time to listen; instead they pushed a bunch of medications at me or suggested unnecessary and expensive procedures. Not only did they not help, these things caused other problems that I have to live with now! Then I found out about Dr. Hanna from a friend. Although Dr. Hanna does not take insurance, the cost is very well worth it. I called other doctors in Colorado and throughout the country and I found that Dr. Hannas charges are much below the cost of other clinics for at least twice the amount of time. I have never met a doctor that was so kind and caring. My only regret is that I didnt find… her sooner. I am so excited that I am starting off the New Year feeling great

I have suffered from headaches most of my adult life. I was misdiagnosed with cluster headaches and spent several years seeing several neurologists, on several different meds and the headaches got worse. By the time I found Dr. Hanna I had become chronic daily with severe migraines. Dr. Hanna promised me that within six months, she could make me headache-free. From one who was suffering daily, that seemed impossible. But in six months, Dr. Hanna delivered and I was headache-free. Dr. Hanna has taught me patience, determination and motivation with regards to my headaches, but the lessons learned while in her care are applied to my everyday life. Dr. Hanna's care has given me a new lease on life and a new appreciation that each day headache-free is a gift. I would highly recommend her to anyone I know. There isn't another doctor I have ever met that spends such concentrated time with her patients. She is completely devoted to her patients, to medicine and to finding a cure.

Lots of Excedrin, Imitrex, rebound migraines, and working sick. Within months of seeing Dr. Hanna 10 yrs. ago, I got better & better with a routine that worked for me as she accurately diagnosed my personal migraines. The pharmaceuticals are low dose & over time some were excluded. Dr. Hanna so carefully monitors my over all health and needs. Why have I seen her for so long? Life changes and it can influence our health. My husband was diagnosed with early on-set Alzheimers and with all of the complicated business and extreme stress my migraines were very bad. Dr. Hanna again took the time to re-evaluate. She is direct to mention and remind me of what I cannot eat or drink and how to keep myself healthy. The migraines are again under control. Her compassion & care is right from her wonderful heart. I always say, "Dr. Hanna saved me....".
