I have been breathing through my mouth for as long as I can remember. I finally got the time (and will power) to go seek help about it. I saw Dr. Ashktorab and she did a very thorough examination, listened to my concerns and gave me her opinion. Being cautious, I seeked 2nd and 3rd consultations to get a better understanding on how to deal with the situation. Both the other consults suggested surgery right away, except Dr Ashktorab. She had suggested a staged approach escalating as nessessary, with surgery being the last resort. As I discussed the next steps with my family, my friends and family raved about the prestige of Johns Hopkins University and that I should definitely go with the doctor there. I performed my surgery with that surgeon and just short of a few weeks of time, I realized I still have issues breathing through my nose. The doctor assured my that it takes time and kept prescribing me steroids. Fast forward 6 months, I still have the same issue. I followed my gut and… decided to give Dr Ashktorab a visit. She immediately noticed that I had done surgery once she looked inside my nose, without me even saying anything to her. She suggested surgery this time, given that I had been on medication for over 6 months without any progress in sight. I took her advice and scheduled surgery with her. The day of the surgery she came and sat down with my wife and I, asking how I'm doing, if I had any questions and we even had a conversation about traveling. The whole time she was so calm and pleasant that it gave you this sense of calmness and peace. I later learned that she had a busy schedule with numerous surgeries scheduled but never once did i feed rushed by her. As I was getting prepped for surgery with the surgical team, I could overhear the team rave about how amazing Dr Ashktorab is and how they love working with her. After my surgery she spoke with my wife letting her know the surgery was successful. That evening we received a call and my son told me it was Dr Ashktorab, I was so concerned and thought something wrong must have happened for her to call me. But to my surprise, she had just called me to see how I'm doing! My Lord, what an angel of person she is! In my 57 years of existence I have never met such a caring and compassionate person. In my follow up meeting with her, she took out some of the packing and almost immediately I felt an experience I had never felt before, this immediate flow of air. I could breath even though I was still recovering and a bit swollen. I really can't tell you how happy I am with my result and how happy I am coming across such a great human being. I have told every single person you can imagine about her and anyone that I have sent to her comes back and tells me the SAME EXACT THING. Honestly she's a gem. My only regret is not listening to my gut and listening to friends/family and getting sucked into the Hopkins hype.

Dr. Ashktorab is amazing! Some background: My husband has been a carpenter for over 25 years, and for several months (prior to his procedure) he kept having sinus pain and nose bleeds. Our primary care doctor of over 10 years kept prescribing my husband over the counter nasal sprays. Until finally he referred us to a specialist...that's when we saw Dr. Ashktorab. On our very first visit we knew right away she was very attentive to our concerns and extremely knowledgeable. She knew right away something wasn't right. Unfortunately for us, she was right. After a few tests, my husband was diagnosed with paranasal sinus cancer. You always hear about others getting cancer but you always think it wont be you or loved one. It certainly wasn't news we wanted to hear but Dr. Ashktorab gave us the confidence we needed to move forward with the procedure. Fast-forward three months from his procedure today, we just got our test results that my husband is cancer-free!! My family and I can not thank… Dr. Ashktorab enough for what she has done for us. She was really God-sent, being able to catch the issue at the early stages. We were truly blessed.

I had to do a revision rhinoplasty after another doctor had completely botched my nose. To the point that it was not only esthetically awful but it was difficult breathing as well. Felt comfortable with Dr. Ashktorab doing my revision after my first visit. Its now a little over 2 weeks since my surgery and a world of a difference. I'm extremely pleased with my decision.

Dr. Ashktorab enjoys a sterling reputation as a surgeon and it is well deserved. Equally important is the tone she sets for her practice. Appointments are always on time and the hospital staff is friendly and courteous. When I have called with post-op concerns they have all been dealt with promptly and with compassion. Highly recommended.

I have been having trouble breathing from my nose for years. I had seen so many doctors and taken every medication you can think about. Dr. Ashktorab diagnosed my issue on the very first visit. After a small procedure, I can now breath from my nose. Cant thank her enough!
