Dr. Samuel F Castillo, JR JR., MD

Dr Castillo was very knowledgeable about my condition of acid reflux. I was impressed that he gave me lifestyle modifications to try as well as a prescription. Its true that I had to wait nearly an hour to see him as the waiting room was full but it was worth the wait. I highly recommend.

By far the worst MD visit EVER! I didn't even have high expectations! First of all, the front office staff is rude AF. My appointment was at 5:00 p.m. I walked in at 4:55 p.m. at about 5:45 I asked if I could reschedule my appointment. It was met with attitude and excuses and then proceeded to ask me what I had to do and if it was important? Which I ignored. A little after 6 o'clock I was finally brought back to a room. About 10 minutes later, the doctor walked in and sat down at the computer all while never making eye contact or even introducing himself. After a few awkward moments of him clicking away at the computer I asked if he was the doctor at which point he said "oh yes yes I'm doctor castilio" After trying to explain why I was there and what my symptoms were (after being interrupted multiple times) I wasn't quite sure if he was even paying attention. After several unanswered questions and brushing off many of my questions, he stood up and asked if I wanted to schedule the… procedure. I was confused at this point because he never asked any questions, never apologized for the 1hr + wait, no physical exam and never addressed any of my concerns. He asked what I did for living and when I told him I was a nurse his response was "Oh, then you must be crazy" then followed by "I'm just kidding my family has nurses" I'm sorry, joking or not, you make me wait for an hour, dont even introduce yourself and now you got jokes..distasteful one at that. HORRIBLE 1st impression. I cancelled the procedure 15 minutes after I made it. I will not be going back to that office and I do not recommend anyone waste their time. I will be calling my insurance because I am not paying for that charade of a visit. You did nothing but waiste my time

Dr. Castillo was kind, thoughtful and informative. I have had 3 Gastro procedures by Dr. Castillo that included biopsy and all were performed with a minimum of discomfort and post surgically I was offered appropriate followup with both diagnosis and good options to treat my difficulties.

He is the worst GI doctor I have ever been to. He rushes you and can't be bothered with any questions that I have. His bed side manner is terrible. I would not recommend him. There are plenty of other GI doctors you can go see.
